Hi, I am level 3142, and I am going to be the first to get a grade 100 gem.
How did I get specs obscenely high? Well, thanks to this dude over here...
One important thing to note is how to create dual gems. Adding two grade one's them spamming U is losing about 33% special power.
Optimal creation is a G1 of both, combine, make a G2 of each, add one pure to each dual, combine the G3s, duplicate, and repeat with pure G4s, duplicate the 6, etc.
here is the difference at g34: Regular creation: http://prntscr.com/3dgs2c
Special Mix: http://prntscr.com/3dgs6k
Note that the hit count is the same, and the cost to duplicate is the same. This is a difference of 32.9%, and this difference keeps rising at higher levels. It's only a 16% difference at grade 6. It takes a decent amount of time, but it is worth it at ultimate grades (45+).
I now have huge specs. It takes me about 20-30 seconds real life time to get +1 grade. So a minute before +2(needed if want extra specs). I estimate my specs to be about 80% higher than normal, at least blood is.
PS- Level 46 amps got the spec treatment too, they are wicked.
Psorek, you really think the gems are gonna fire with their actual speed now?
If yes, what would that mean? Not being able to amp black anymore might decrease manaoutput by like, lets say, 50%. The gain if the actual firespeed would really be apllied should still skyrocket mangain to ridiculous spheres?
I'm staying with my actual game fo the moment. If somebody has tested and something to tell about firespeed I'd really be interested...
Gem stats- Not sure, I forgot exactly, but it was 175 targets, some mana(duh) and 48 firing speed
Now, my calculated results for mana per frame were one fourth of the in-game one. Which means, firing speed might now be OP, IF, it continues to register as much higher than 30/sec(1/frame).
Edit- that gem was a 16-combine supergem. I will now try specced method(which, incidentally, increases firing speed by 1% at grade 50) and will see what happens. Crosses fingers. OFC, if this will be OP, peter nerf. What a noob dev....I get he wants to make the game what he wants, he's entitled to that, but he has to compromise, at least, and communicate with the players...esp the pro ones who know the game almost as well as him(what with your geek math lol)
As a game development student, I have been learning quite a bit from the discussions regarding the math of this game.
I suspect that the bloodbound nerf came about because we were squeezing black in our gems and amping with pure black, which I think was about to happen with poolbound before it got nerfed. I feel that such gem planning shenanigans are legitimate strategy, and should not be the target of a nerf, because you can do it with ANY color in a gem. This reminds me of Diablo III's IAS nerf, in which something gets nerfed because everyone is using it, and everyone is using it because every thing else is practically useless.
thunderrider: not only you, I'm also below 20 and some other players too. 30s posting is little too slow - if you don't have skype maybye IRC, google talk?
