If it isn't obvious from reading the title, I'm suggesting an edit button. However, this isn't like the other(or at least from what I've seen) threads where they say, "We need an edit button." and then not add anything else to it. This isn't going to be one of those threads.
How about a thing where you can see the original post. You know, the original post BEFORE it was edited. Here's how I'm thinking it could work, it could work like the drop downs, but instead of hovering over it, you click it and the original post drops down in front of the edited post.
However this also means more work for the Admins and I'm pretty sure we don't want to wait much longer for the edit button.
