I have played through the first two levels of the game, and I have a question: The enemies, towers, and spells are very similar, and in some cases, almost identical to Kingdom Rush's enemies, towers, and spells, except for graphics. I'd like to know if the game gets more original later on, because right now it seems like a rip-off. Sorry if my post is unrelated to quests, but my comments on the game itself were flagged for some reason.
@zonoro12
Yes, it is essentially a poor Kingdom Rush rip-off, there is no reason to hide that fact. As I mentioned some time ago, this game does have some nice ideas, but sadly all of them got hit by either micro-payment, extensive grinding or extensive waiting time/per-day limitations. Pay-to-Win in a nushell.
Though if you want to just get the quests and move on then I guess it will take somewhere around one month, maximum month and a half, that depends on the tower upgrades you will take, Olinser's guide and tips may prove helpful.
About "originality" - in terms of solely Tower Defence part, game does not get original at all, I think nearly all of the towers and their special abilities are recycled from Kingdom Rush and KR Frontiers, but work worse than originals.
Sweet monkey jesus...
I FINALLY did it.
I beat Desert stage4 heroic: The Lone Stronghold.
For better or worse... I relied in large part on the pointers in this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLzzRol-3wI
But, I used my own more idiosyncratic methods as you can see in this screenshot: http://my.jetscreenshot.com/23333/20141117-cukp-884kb
@Olinser , or any other player that's gotten to be really good at this game...
Hey, Olinser! What were the HERO-UPGRADES you bought that cost Dark Soul Crystals? And in what order?
I've done quite a bit of upgrading on my towers, I think it's due time for me to start upgrading my heroes now, too.
Congratulations! I'm stuck (again) on Lava Scorched Waste (hard), Desert Interim Camp (heroic) and Swamp Lizard Temple (norma). 18 stars to go but at this time I'm not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel :x
' Desert Interim Camp (heroic)' was an insane level.
Here. Use this video to help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyiA6CQiQkc I really recommend studying the video because the strategies it uses were really so unconventional, that I doubt I would have thought of them on my own.
@Arkeyo - If you're having a little trouble on some of the hard/heroic modes you may want to put some money into getting Tears of Shiva and buying the reduce cost talents for arrow towers. They are absolutely terrible for normal levels (you always end up with thousands of extra gold already by at the end so it's basically wasted), but for hard and heroics usually the first 1-2 waves are the toughest and getting just 1-2 extra towers can help.
@mercwithmouth - Hero skills? Frankly, none of them, they all pretty much suck until the final levels - but seriously, just glance at the absurd number of crystals they take (to get the final skill for Hawkeye, for instance, requires a total of FIFTY Crystals), and even then they just aren't that good. Heroes just don't do enough damage to be relevant with the rather absurd HP scaling. Even with full talents and high level equipment your hero is going to be doing less damage than a single Sniper tower. You're better off saving your honor for Durin Atomika, at least he provides a further meat shield.
Although if you plan on PvPing in order to upgrade your troops you are required to upgrade your Hero Class of the same type - which takes TEN Crystals (and ten upgrade tokens) to get to the next class.
First I would recommend getting the first level upgrade for Static and Hail - the first level especially is a rather large upgrade and actually lets them do somewhat relevant amounts of damage even through the Marsh area. Blizzard at a minimum is kind of mandatory if you plan on getting 3 stars in all levels.
After that I would suggest you start upgrading your Training slots - Blitz Acres gives you the highest chance to get Hero Upgrade Tokens (10% chance for a Knight token at level 30, 5% chance for Archer token at 40, 5% chance for a Wizard token at 50). For comparison, the only other 2 sources of Hero Upgrade Tokens outside events or buying them for 100x Diamonds each are a guaranteed 2x chests with 1 random token each, for 28 days of consecutive logins per month or each Supply caravan has a 20% chance to give you a chest which has only a 5% chance of containing a token (so effectively a 1% chance per supply run of getting a random token).
However, in order to continue in Blitz Acres you have to have a Hero of the appropriate level, and even if you do the same hero every time multiple times per day it takes MONTHS to get to 40 and 50.
@Olinser
Actually, I already have Durin and am at Kingdom Level 47. I also have Level3Blizzard; Level2Lightning; and Level2Milita.
I also have 3training slots opened up, and 3plantation-spaces opened up.
My towers include:
*JungleWarfare + Sniper w. 50cal + Assassin w. FlyCutter
*Dragontower
*WitchTower + Tornado
There seem to be various Hero SKILLS and Hero TALENTS that may or may not be worth getting. The Hero Skills, incidentally, are the icons that appear beneath the big-animated-picture of the hero after you click on HALL OF HEROES.
Likewise, the Hero TALENTS are those icons that appear after you click on the word TALENT.
At this point... I'm wondering if any of the Hero SKILLS are worth investing, and which ones.
(I've also purchased 8additional inventory slots... >.< )
@mercwithmouth - If you've got Atomika then he's the only one with a genuinely GOOD skill - namely his first one that is a Tower damage increase aura.
Other than that they are pretty meh, they're mostly personal damage related but the Heroes just don't do enough damage to be relevant once you start getting into the 3rd or 4th area, never mind the 5th one. They're functionally meat shields for towers. If you want the extra battle power go ahead and get the skills, they are only 2 crystals each.
@olinser
heh. so, Durin's the one with the useful skills, eh? guess i'll have to keep that in mind.
all this time i've been leveling up Korina, instead.
