Well this thread is branched off of the Mudkip drawing thread. This will be the same accept for a new rule.

RULES
All pictures must be made using MS art.

The pictures must be appropriate (I will accept constipated Pikachus )

The pictures must of course be of the pokemon stated.

There will be a designed date for all entries. No prizes unless a md wants to. The real prize is knowing that you own at drawing pokemon!

Well, I will go first,
EVERYONE, draw a Pikachu! The start date is now, and the end date is July 10th.

The first contest will be judged by me, and I will chosee the winner. The winner then chooses a new pokemon, and he/she is now the judge. If the winner declines, the judging and assigning duties will go to the runner-up chosen by the prior judge.

So now! Go draw some Pikachus!

No, not nearly rude enough :P But anyway!

I don't suppose you've studied colour theory? Neither have I but I know enough to know that hues and shades of colours can be classified as degrees of temperature. There's a warm blue, and a cold blue, for example, and for certain effects in composition you need to watch out how you balance the warms and the colds. One popular adage is if the foreground is one, the background is the other.

Well I had a quick chat with Zophia...and I am now the GUEST JUDGE!!!

I will start judging after now...although I may break in the middle for my dinner....I'm so excited :-)

Hi and Welcome to the new and FRESH Judging by me...KingRyan!

A Short Background...

I...I have been here for a while...and was an original Beta tester for the new site layout...one of the few still active...this is probably due to the fact that I am addicted to the site...

On the topic of Pokemon...I would have to say that I am not that big of a fan...the cartoon was quite lame and I never collected any trading cards...I will say that I have played the games...but I only really know the main pokemon...or have heard their names but have no idea what they look like...this view is represented in my entries...

The Entries

Well...interestingly enough there were seven entries...three more than last week...so well done everyone for having a go! They all look wonderful...

Champion's Exhibit - Cenere 'Out of the Blue...no...umm...Purple'

I quite liked this one...and it would have ranked high if it were in competition. It is very artistic...apart from the fact that the water is Purple...that should have been better...Well Done Cen...I hope to see more good entries from you in following rounds.

First Place - RaptorExx 'I Have Absolutely No Idea Who Half of Those Are'

This is an excellent entry...combining Art skill with knowledge to create a very clever design. It looks like a good representation of Lugia...and the foreground text nicely added to it. It would look better if that text was a different colour and easier to read. I think that your colouring is slightly off...

I will have to take marks off for the fact that you possibly made some of those names in the background up...because since I have never heard of them...they mustn't exist...

Second Place - Zega 'Sit in a Cirlce'

This image instantly made me think that Lugia was at school and had to sit in on the floor, or in a circle, so that it could learn something. However, I am not sure if this was the intended purpose...

This is very well done Zega...It looks very realistic and the second layer of colour round the borders adds depth to the image. Again...Well done.

I think that you also have the colour wrong...

The Other Entries

I decided to not give third place due to the fewness of entries...and it would be too hard to pick between them. Therefore...I have a few awards to give out...in no order...

I am unsure whether to be annoyed at this entry...because it is quite an easy way out...but it made me lol...so I guess it must be ok. A different font may have been better...the T + H almost look like a D...

I don't actually get this...if there is some American or non-Australian connotation to the word 'loogy' then I am sorry...but I don't get it...

According to Wikipedia...a 'loogy' is a left handed baseballer...so why this is related to Pokemon...I...don't...know...

Also...you lose pounts for swearing...there are women present (points to Zoph)

I don't know if I can give myself and award...but I think I can...since I entered...and this is very fitting.

It seemed that I was the only participant who used the right colours. Everyone else phailed on the colours...but I got the right ones...Go Me!!!
