Well this thread is branched off of the Mudkip drawing thread. This will be the same accept for a new rule.
RULES All pictures must be made using MS art.
The pictures must be appropriate (I will accept constipated Pikachus )
The pictures must of course be of the pokemon stated.
There will be a designed date for all entries. No prizes unless a md wants to. The real prize is knowing that you own at drawing pokemon!
Well, I will go first, EVERYONE, draw a Pikachu! The start date is now, and the end date is July 10th.
The first contest will be judged by me, and I will chosee the winner. The winner then chooses a new pokemon, and he/she is now the judge. If the winner declines, the judging and assigning duties will go to the runner-up chosen by the prior judge.
Cen, that looks fantastic. It really looks as if it were a pokemon! I think you'll definitely win. Very awesome indeed.
The art of combining two pokemon to get one, and not both > >... Poison type pokemon. Also, as I just concluded, the 2nd stage evo would be something you wouldn't like to meet. It got wings AND cannons....
And I saw, I am just a lazy butt that delays reading > >.... I will get to it eventually, don't worry, and the link is still on my profile, so I will find it.
I apologies for my dissappearingness...I was very tired after my camp and then got Runescape membership so I was distracted by that. And then it was over 40 celcius for a few days here which I spent lazing around the house.
Both judging will be put up within the next 24 hours - guaranteed! Some of the entries look really good!
*gets out external keyboard for faster typing and realises that familiarity with it has been lost to a degree...even after typing a fifty thousand word story on it the previous year*
(no I am not fletching while I write this =\\ )
Champions Exhibit - kacboy
Even though this wasn't done especially for the contest, it will do since you are only eligible for the champions exhibit.
You entry is interesting, however somewhat retarded looking - the expression, not the drawing skill.
Keep up the good work.
First Place - DefinitelyCrazy
I had a lot of trouble picking the top three, with first and second being even harder to pick between.
This Dratini had a slight essence of humour to it, which probably caused it to edge into first place. It is very well drawn (don't worry about the unevenness) and looks very classy in the top hat and monocle.
You get the great honour of picking the theme of the next round!
(It really suprises me how long this contest has lasted without a merit for a prize...people must just love drawing pokemon!)
Second Place - Cenere
Both of your images look really good, and I can agree with your sister that neither of them suck!
The texturing on your entry is done well (the shadows and stuff), especially the water, which looks really good. Your dratini is slightly skinny towards the end, although maybe it is just a baby (correct me if I am wrong and it has the proper size).
Well done for not using the common posture of this Pokemon!
Third Place - gizmo00999
This is another well drawn entry, however I assume that you used a path tool to create the lines? That or you have a very steady hand...or could write a mathematical equation to draw that...
The one thing that detracted from this entry was the pointedness at the side of the entry, which I assume came from using the path tool.
And don't worry, it isn't ugly!
Other Entries...
Of course, when I have to judge two rounds there are lots of entries...
Oh well...
(Level 48 fletching ftw)
The 'Give to the Blind' Award - Zega
This is a...weird...entry Zega! The face of it just looks odd...
It seems to be only roughly drawn - and I know that you can do better than that!! =P
Keep up the good effort though!
The Infinite Loop Award - whimsyboy
Good try with your entry, it is drawn well although somewhat sketchy. The pose of the tail looks good and you have almost made the stomach look right!
Maybe next time try using a thicker brush so that the lines do not look as thin and sketchy.
The Copyright Nintendo Award - superpickle
This entry made me laugh, almost out loud. Who would have thought of combining two Nintendo trademarks into one to create a timeless character who likes eating spotted mushrooms which make him grow bigger. Or something like that...
Your entry is quite sketchy, which detracts from it a little bit. Also, I believe that the image type you saved it as didn't hold the proper colours in some spots.
The We Hate Magikarp Award - SilentQ
Ah, don't you hate getting a pokemon you dont want when you are wanting one that you really want? I think that that happens when you want a pokemon you always get the one that you don't want. So that is why you have to want what you don't want so that you won't get what you don't want but will actually get what you want.
Fairly good entry though, however you have used slightly thick lines. Maybe one or two sizes smaller would look better...
The Aspiration Award - Kirby998
Teacher: So, Dratini, what do you want to be when you grow up? Dratini: I want to be a Dragonite... (An inspiring montage is played showing how the Dratini will become a Dragonite before the scene shifts back to the classroom and all the other Pokemon laugh at the Dratini)
This is a fairly well drawn entry (I'm not looking at the Dragonite because I know that you didn't want to draw it). It came very close to third place.
The expression is drawn well, with the saddended looks sorta clearly visible. That or I'm imagining it, which is likely...all this hot weather...LOOK A GIANT OCTOPUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
++++++++
Thats probably the sign that I should stop judging for the night and do the Charsquirtles tomorrow morning when it is a little cooler. Sorry about the extended wait. When it is so hot I didn't really feel like doing anything. Cool change should come during the night though...
