Well this thread is branched off of the Mudkip drawing thread. This will be the same accept for a new rule.
RULES All pictures must be made using MS art.
The pictures must be appropriate (I will accept constipated Pikachus )
The pictures must of course be of the pokemon stated.
There will be a designed date for all entries. No prizes unless a md wants to. The real prize is knowing that you own at drawing pokemon!
Well, I will go first, EVERYONE, draw a Pikachu! The start date is now, and the end date is July 10th.
The first contest will be judged by me, and I will chosee the winner. The winner then chooses a new pokemon, and he/she is now the judge. If the winner declines, the judging and assigning duties will go to the runner-up chosen by the prior judge.
Cool. Is champions exhibit higher than first place or what?
Yes and no. It is the image made by the previous winner, thus it is a way of "still going strong", but it earns nothing but appreciation that the winner decided to submit one for the round they cannot win.
So, I really should have got this done earlier, but you know me! I'm a great procrastinator - and sometimes watching your parents fail at WiiFit is more important than judging!
(Trust me, it was hilarious!)
Now there is no champions exhibit because this was an inbetween contest...however I have hopefully managed to sneak in a special prize for the winner! (details found under the winner...)
Now I am hoping that there aren't too many entries, even though lots of entries are excellent! Keep up the good work, this contest is doing well at the moment, especially compared to some of the down times of June - August last year! Or sometime around then...maybe earlier, before the American holidays. Anywho, that doesn't matter and I am just rambling!
So the theme of this contest was a mixture of Charmander and Squirtle, because I thought it would be funny to see what people could come up with. And lets have a look at what we got...
And I would just like to say that we have some very high quality entries this round...probably good that I am judging so that my entry isn't that bad...no one remembers my turtwig one right...
The Judging!
Third Place - DefinitelyCrazy
This is quite a clever entry, and looks quite painful. What kind of sick person would want to try doing that to a pair of pokemon. It must have been Brock!
I find it funny that the squirtle head almost has a contented expression in its state and that the fire on the tail is still going...
To improve this I would possibly add some shadow for depth, especailly around the legs. However an excellent effort anyway!
Second Place - Cenere
I like the idea of this one, it being looking exactly like either of the two merged pokemon. It makes sense to try and not make two but one.
You should send this in to Nintendo, it looks more like a Pokemon than some of the 4th Generation ones...
Overall it is very nicely drawn and looks very smooth and pokemonlike. Your drawing talent is superb Cen! I wish I could steal it...*stares intently*
You should draw the evolution just for kicks. No wait, that is your prize for coming second - the job of drawing the evolution!
First Place - RaptorExx
I will have to say that this entry stood out to me from the start!
To begin with, the background and overlay has been drawn really well. The sliding thing down the bottom is an excellent touch to the whole image.
The pokemon itself is merged well and is drawn very clearly. The fire looks cool also!
Overall well done. You will recieve your mystery prize when you post this message on Cenere's profile:
Then you need to face West and spin around five times while holding both hands on your head before digging a hole at the base of an Oak tree and planting an acorn in that hole before watering it with strawberry milk.
That should do it...
Other Entries...
So many...
The Ninja Turtle Award - Kirby998
An interesting entry, however the caption at the bottom doesn't make me feel positive about it. It isn't that bad, it could be worse (like blue dot attatched to a red dot)!
It must be quite cosy in there...how do they go to the toilet?
The YOU ATE THE PRINCESS Award - SilentQ
This entry makes me laugh. The squirtle looks compfortable inside teh Charmander, however I don't think the Charmander would be that happy - I mean, where are all of its insides?
Nice drawing, slightly thick lines and teh fire looks a little solid - but it's ok.
Keep up the good work!
The Dwindling Flame Award - Zega
The one thing that I noticed about this was that it was eyeless...then I realised that it was flameless.
YOu have drawn it well as is expected from you, the shadow looks good, even if it is just scribble. Reminds me of the picture that Strop drew of a dragon inside a castle.
The 'Insert Fire Here' is a nice touch, and makes up for the overall lack of warmth...
The Lolwhut Award - Superpickle
This image is actually quite good, even if it is a little basic. It does lack a head and only has two legs - but it is still win! Not fail...WIN!
Well done on this, your other entry was also quite good.
The...I'VE FINISHED Award! - Me
Yay, I finished another judging, with about 20 minutes to spare before 10pm...
Now we still have to wait for DefinitelyCrazy to pick the next pokemon as he was the winner of the Dratini round (Page 215).
Keep up the good work everyone, and stay cool / warm wherever you are.
(Oh you'll be happy to know that it was a nice 22 celcious here today...which was a lot nicer than the past few days of over 40!)
I'm thinking.........the floating turtwig head? [quote]To begin with, the background and overlay has been drawn really well.quote] Yes, it is probably the best background I've ever done, and it isn't even that good! XD
Hitmonchan is better than Hitmonlee, imho. I saw a good picture of a 'monchanny not too long ago, actually, it was really neat.......
----- Sweet picture Kacboy, I liek that style of inking, always have....and the highlight overlay looks neat too ^^.
I'm not sure if I'll make anything.... *idea block + laziness = waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh*
That's what Brock gets for what he did to Squirtle and Charmander.
This is quite a clever entry, and looks quite painful. What kind of sick person would want to try doing that to a pair of pokemon. It must have been Brock!
