Dear Student, Welcome to the Alder-Kast School of Magical Research, even in these trying times we appreciate the commitment you have made in coming here. It is thanks to youth such as yourself that we have a future ahead of us and know that we all appreciate the sacrifices you have most graciously accepted to become a student of this prestigious school. Our time will be a happy and tragic one as we discover ourselves and each other before submitting to the war effort that keeps our strong nation alive. I have high expectations for you and I have no doubt that you will surpass every challenge with the help of our expert and experienced staff. I eagerly await your arrival! Regards, Sebastian Pyrrane, Head Magister
Welcome to Shrouds & Magic, as this is a role-play the content will primarily be story driven and story points will be revealed and developed as we continue. There will be character interactions between players so I ask that you respect anything that the other user posts, and if there are disagreements I will settle them. Once we have a few people I will be posting the initial environment for everyone. I hope to have lots of fun and interesting adventures together!
===================== Character Sheet:
Name-
Age-
Gender-
Race- (Elves, Humans, or similar. I may also allow others, just ask)
Bio: (A description of your character's past, or lack of, and their general personality type. It can be as long or as short as you like)
Appearance: (How your character looks, pictures are welcomed)
If you think I should add anything, let me know and I will consider it
Pablo: You enter you dorm room, and for the most part it looks like a apartment as you see a living room area, a kitchen, a bathroom and two other doors leading to what appears to be your private bedrooms. The living room has a small fireplace as the centerpiece, your roommate already has a fire burning as he sits across from it with his back turned to you. He slowly stands as you walk in, the well-lit room revealing his face. He stands pretty tall at 6'4'' with sun-kissed skin. He looks at you with bright ruby red eyes, a small smile as he walks towards you, black bangs slighly covering the right side of his face "So your my roommate.." he speaks lowly, his arms loosely crossed "I suppose I should you welcome you then." he laughs a little for no reason at all "My name is Desmond." He wears a black, leather long coat, with black pants, and you notice a slim, leathery tail coming underneath his coat, the tip of the tail spreading out like a axe head
Eliakith: "And upon you as well." Devenar mentions before you walk away, Jaryl then half-yells "Meet me in the central courtyard when you're done!" as he leaves. Room after room does not reveal what you seek until enter a room that seems dimly-lit where you see a few experiments in various degrees of completion stopped for the day, however in the back of the room what looks to be a child is working with concentration wearing school robes "Please don't blow up, please don't blow up.." it seems by energy of the rune he is working on that it is void-magic, or almost at least, and that seems to be the theme for this entire room.
Silver: She nods with a smile "Exactly right, regular magic can control certain elements but only alchemy can transmute it. They say alchemy was the first step for us humans to understand magic. I'm not that great however." she says modestly "Of course you learn basics as well." she shrugs and looks around to your room "Sooooo..." she appears to think before leaning over, her hands on her knees cutely as she looks down at you "Ready to go? she says excitedly, a wide smile revealing her white teeth.
JACK: Say'ri nods, her hands clasped behind her back as she smiles again "That's a very noble way of thinking, I like that." she says enthusiastically with her head held high "Hear that? You guys can RELAX while we're here." she giggles a little, the guards sighing with a small smile "As you wish, your highness." the one mentions suddenly grinning as he puts emphasis on the last word, Say'ri snaps her head to glare at him "I thought I said..never...call..me that!" she holds in her anger to which the guards laugh together "Whatever you say." the two of the them barely holding back, the frustration obvious in Say'ri's face as she looks straight again just as you reach the door to you dorm which changes her mood like a switch "Finally! Hurry and open it!" she excitedly says
(Was it brotherhood or the other one that you watched?)
"Please m'lady, be the first to enter our new abode." I say with a smile as I throw open the door, indicating for Say'ri to enter first. I pause for a second to see what the guards do, if they do not insist that they go first to check the rooms safety I wait until Say'ri enters the room and then close the door, "Give me a moment with your guards if you wouldn't mind." I say, my smile etched across my face. Closing the door I turn to the guards my face turned to stone. I raise myself to my full height and stair them down, "So, what was that all about?" If they do go through the door first I simply give them a nod of approval.
Eliakith: The rune is shaped like a disc, one that could be thrown quite far and with relative ease. The you rune maker is using tools similar to the professor although in a much more plain and simple design, the school's insignia inscribed on the handle. A few beads of sweat drip down his face as he concentrates before he finishes, a wide smile on his face before he takes the disc into his hands holding it triumphantly in the air "Yes! It's stable!" and not even one second after the runes inscribed onto the disc explode and a blast of purple energy erupts from the disc, the lights in the room blowing obscuring the young researcher. When the chaos finally ceases, there is only silence in the pitch black room.
Gene: Desmond casually shakes your hand, not putting a lot of effort into the action "The same to you, Gene." he nods before you ask your question, he shrugs "Nowhere particular, I'm sort of a nomad I suppose." he shrugs with indifference "Is there a place you call home?" he returns the question.
Red: The waitress give a small smile as you order which fades as you ask about last night, she leans in a little closer "They say a young woman was attacked last night by an un-dead. People claim it's a omen of worse things to come." she whispers before holding her hands together at her waist "I'll go get you your food right away." she then walks over to the counter, and talks to the chef who is cooking in kitchen visible by a cutout in the wall. It does not take long as your food arrives on the counter not too long after, the waitress then brings it over and sets it in front of you "Here ya go, sweetie." the bread looks and feels like it just came out of the oven, the same with the soup which appears to be a potato based soup with small chunks of meat mixed in.
JACK: Say'ri happily enters the room and practically screams with joy at the appearance of the room and nods "Sure, just don't eat them." she laughs a little as the door closes, mostly muffling noise. The guards seemed shocked as you raise to your full height, both looking at each other before realizing what this was about "That sir? We just use that word to tease that's all like we used to. Years of misadventures with someone allows you to push their buttons." the one guards calmly mentions before the other face palms and grabs the shoulder of his companion "Remember the last time we called her that?" to which he shudders "....Yeah...I can never eat butter again." he cringes.
Silver: She smiles with a bit of blush as she takes you hand, her eyes locked with yours "Lead the way." she happily says
Lowco: "Without formal training? Not bad." he casually states while looking over the rest of his papers before a small smile appears on his face as he stands up "Well it seems you some powers that need further investigation, I present to you a letter of admittance to Alder-Kast School of Magical Research, if you so desire." he holds a envelope just within your grasp.
(I watched all of the original, making my way into brotherhood)
I smile to her, "I can't promise anything my friend."
"I've been with her for less then a few hours and I can see how easy that is to do, I just ask you don't do it too much, as you said yourself, she doesn't seem to forget these things quickly and before you ask I really don't want to know what she did with your butter." I say with a small smile, "Look the real reason I'm talking to you is that you are her guards, and yet when I told her to go into the room first, without knowing what was in there you simply let her go in... What if there was some danger in their? You would have let the princess wander into the trap first. Now I know that's not what you two want to happen so next time, just check out rooms before she goes in them, safer for all of us." I say with a wink and a laugh, "Alright nice chat." My regular smile returning before I head back into the room. As I look for her I pretend to clean my lips, "Sorry, I couldn't help myself, I only ate one though so that's something." I say waiting for her response.
"Greetings future classmate. I am Eliakith of Altea. Might I ask your name, and the nature of your experiment? Wait. First things first. Sorry for intruding, I was exploring the building when I came across this room, and discoverd you. Your experiment interested me, and I could not help myself." I say, at first in an edited inquisitory manor, but then in a solid and natural manor.
"I guess I'm a nomad of sorts as well," I say with a smile, "My family has been through some rough times so we have moved around a lot. Most recently we have been living in a small farming community about four days from here. It's called Rundsville."
