i thouched upon this son my last topic named "armor games has gotten really boring" and this part alone got a lot of responce so i thought it needs it's own section.
i think there should be an armor videos section at the top of the page next to the misc section. i know people are going to say stuff like this(this is exatly what NoNameC68 said an no offence man but you really piss me off) "If you want to see flash videos then go to NewGrounds. This is a site for gaming. ArmorGames will never have a section for flash animations. If this site was to become as much like NewGrounds as it could (allow flash animations and rewards and all that) then Dan would be better off not creating the site at all and letting Newgrounds do its job." he said that armor games will never have a vieos sec but on the old armor games had in th misc section about 6 videos including the first 2 kill bunny videos the "numa numa dance", "american idol" and "icons story" i think dan shouls bring that back along with "kill bunny 3" and some mor new videos because some game that are in a long series or have a long gap between the two games might have connecting videos. also it would add some thing to do when it comes to the point when no new games are be added and the current ones are old. i know im gunna get a lot of negitive feedback in this but i dont care what you think if you dont like this idea
I think that flash animations should be added to the site, definitely. It would attract more artists to the site (Ones who don't/can't do games) and overall would attract more people.
Why does it matter if we'd be ripping off other flash sites?
@Drognar: Obviously they would have to screen them before they posted them on the site, like they already do with games.
you guys dont get it do you if you have been on armor games as long as i have (im an old beta tester) and go on as much as i do it can get boring as hell so i spend my time doing this (which is also boring as hell) so i have some thing fun to do
1. Then go to a different site. Your soul is not bound to this one.
2. Being a beta-tester is not a big deal at all. Don't use it as an excuse.
3. Going by your join date, you were not a beta-tester for all that long.
4. I have been a beta-tester longer than you have.
If their a developer thats obviously different, but he would have to prove he actually made it. I'm just using the 1000 AP because users would overwhelm mods with 100,000 videos a day, it would get really annoying for them. Also they could be porn or other age questional crud, that might result in an instant ban.
I never used that as an excuse in my life, in fact that was the first time I said anything about being a beta-tester in a long time. The only reason I said that was to show that I was a beta-tester too... and that I know from experiance that it is not a big deal.
well, i get the point with the possible bad content, and flooding mods with thousands of videos seems a bit unlikely, but okay, but how would they be able to establish that they were developers? Anyone could say they are, so that wouldn't work. Would they have to provide like a sample of their work to be viewed?
Because NoName U used it as way to knock down Freaco, if it doesn't matter why state you were a beta tester? Anyway I see no way adding flash movies to the site could harm things, as long as its controlled and secure.
Couldn't they just screen the videos that get submitted before they post them, the same way they do with games?
That would mean a lot of work, though.
Because this would be mainly for Flash movies adding some like a youtube video would be a privilege for more trustworthy members. As for developers I suggest picking an account type on sign up, developer or member, you'd obviously have your developer rank stripped if spamming or the videos aren't yours.
well, developer status could easily be chosen by anyone, just like saying you were a developer. there would have to be a way to show you were a developer that could be trusted without just asking them. it'd be like being a gaurd at the airport, and seeing a guy with a bomb, and asking him "are you gonna blow sumthin up?" all he'd hafta say is "err...no." and then theyd be in.
If I was not a beta-tester, then I would not have the grounds to say "being a beta-tester was not a big deal." I was backing up my word with my experiance.
Armorgames is a flexible site. It is the place to go with all the games. If we were to add flash animations, things would get more complicated and the site would feel like it would have some sort of strict guideline to it. Also if we do attract more people to this site, people who were realy into flash animations... think of the types of people this site would attract.
I would much rather this site stay small, simple, flexible, and fun. I am tired of people wanting it to be the "everythign you can imagine is here" site. That would make the site complec and completely ruin that whole "relaxed" feeling that comes with the site.
Anyways, why are you so hellbent on making this site more like a NewGrounds rip off? First of all, this site could not become succesful at producing flash animations and flash games. The only way it could become succesfull is if this site became very simular to NewGrounds were we would then have a lot of people ranting about how AG is just a cop-out of NewGrounds.
I am glad that this site is small and allowing flash animations would only ruin it. Maybe a few wouldn't hurt, but a lot would kill the site.
Yeah, trash the developer thing just add videos by AG, and for high-rank members over 1000 AP, screening would standard, there. Ok Quick Summary- Flash Vids-By AG Other Vids-By responsible members with over 1000 AP, screened.
