I actually went to the fort, then back to the start to wait for day 100.
100-400 was easy, Trance music kept me going.
400-600 was a nasty grind, got boring, repetitive, I started using the sawed off shotgun more.
600+ I watched movies on my laptop untill I passed out at aroun 960 or so, my computer automaticly shut down after two hours of inactivity so I missed my chance at breaking 999
i'd love to see someone else take up the mantle and try though, I think I hold the reccord thus far

Dang! That's just crazy! I could try that, but how many hours did it take you to get to 960? I mean I have a lot of spare time on my hands over the summer, I could do it...but I would get very bored...hummmmm.
two things: I really really wish there was an edit post button and I wish I had finished the 999 grind because I wanted to go back to the end and see how many zombies I had killed.
Also I wrote this when I was half asleep (the thread) so I need to make some corrections: I only made it to day 120 or so without dying, after that I'd just continue whenever I screwed up
I never used the chainsaw, I played around with the RPG on a few days simply to break up the grind, but otherwise 99% of my game was the m21
also the toolstore and the fort are the only cities where zombies don't carry weapons, so if you really want to beat my score you're going to need to go back to the start and grind out the days there.
I appreciate the compliments, after missing the mark I felt terrible.
and yeah, I like the title "expert" - I had never heard of armor games before TLS2, and once I found it.. I was hooked, I was determined to find ever flaw, every bug, every little loophole... and I did. But I wasn't satisfied with going backwards from the end, I wanted to break the game.
99 days was my goal, thinking 100 would break the game since you're only suppose to play a max of 40 or so... I was wrong, it kept going after 100. So I set my goal to 1000 and wouldn't stop untill I got it - this was my downfall, I played like, 18 hours, practicing and grinding the days, learning what weapons work best with different survivors (Revolver, Rifle, Shotgun/Sawed off are my favorite for 4 survivors, since the shotgun is bugged with suvivors - they'll fire off all 8 shots and then reload once. Put the shotgun survivors in the middle, the hunting rifle at the bottom so he gets lots of knee shots, and revolver at the top for head shots.)
