This is one of my favorite movies, now.
I saw it just a few nights back, the 10:00 p.m. showing. I left the theatre at 1:40 a.m.
It was long, and it was awesome.

I would not be surprised if Heath Ledger won an Oscar posthumously. His portrayal of The Joker was absolutely stunning.
Christian Bale was not to be shown up, though, and put on a hell of a show as Batman, though he was, in the end, outdone by Heath.

I HIGHLY recommend seeing this movie as soon as possible. Although, I must warn, if you have don't like a little gore or have a soft stomach, I do not suggest seeing it. Also, this is not the Batman movie children should be watching.

Now... *********SPOILER*****************SPOILER**********

My favorite scene from the movie is toward the beginning, after you see that the Joker and some of his minions have robbed a bank. There is a meeting with a bunch of obviously high up crime lords. Organized crime bosses all meeting in some basement. There is some talking about money being stolen and you learn a little bit about the plot, but the real fun starts when the Joker walks in and announces he was the one that stole all the money from them. One of the bosses sitting at the table tells one of his henchmen to go and take care of the Joker. The Joker tells them he will show them a magic trick and pulls out a pencil. He says he will make the pencil disappear, and puts the pencil on the table, holding it up, point toward the ceiling. The henchman walks over the Joker, the Joker grabs the henchman's head, slams it down on the pencil and let's his body fall to the floor. The pencil is obviously now gone, as it is lodged in the henchman's brain and the Joker says, "Taa-daa!"

Ahh, the gruesome humor! This movie was absolutely amazing. Go see it.

AHH! I watched the movie yesterday and I want to go see it again! Heath Ledger's performance was an amazing rendition of The Joker. He was dark and creepy. The story itself was a hell of a lot darker than the first one, and with this Joker.. it was just mind blowing. Definitely watch this in IMAX, it's beautiful to look at.

***SPOILER***

***OKAY, HERE IT IS***

My favourite scene was when Joker decides to go after H.D. after he reveals himself as The Batman. Eventually, after a couple of explosions, the truck flips over and everything. It's the scene where Joker's just standing in the middle of the street, with his slouch and that look on his face. It's just creepy.

I have to agree completely. I love how this movie was a lot more realistic. It showed that no one is perfectly good, not even super heroes. Heath Ledger is the best bad guy I have ever seen! He played the part perfectly because he was in a dark room for a month to get into character. It is sad that he overdosed because he was one of the best actors. I love the test in the boats because it really shows that no one is perfectly nice. Awesome movie and I bet it will win awards!

Omg that movie was one of my favorites! Heath Ledger did his best role in this film! The way he licked his lips and how he talked was just freaky! I agree with you this is not a kids movie. It just might have been the most realistic super hero movie out there!

***Spoiler***

My favorite scene is in the beggining when they are robbing the bank and they are all killing eachother until the last one left is the joker himself. On one part one of the guys says "Hey where is (I forgot the name)?". Then the other guy says "Oh boss told me to kill him". Then the other guy says "Funny, he told me something similiar". Then shoots him in the head.

The joker is so smart!

I just thought I would update everyone on the box office sales. Are you ready for this? Over $452 million worldwide in just 11 days! This movie is going to break records. I think it is out in IMAX now so that will make it even more money. I am going to see it in IMAX sometime so I will be contributing to that humongous amount of money it ends up bringing in.

P.S. The movie only cost about $180 million to make so they will do just fine with their giant profit.

I just got back from seeing this, actually.

Best part:

When the Joker is walking away from the hospital while it's exploding, and suddenly the bombs stop going off. He turns around and looks at the bombs, makes a "guys, wtf" pose, presses some buttons on his detonator and the bombs resume. He continues walking away.

I lol'd.

Hm, good point. It broke the amount of theaters, box office on opening midnight, and box office on opening weekend. I wonder if it will beat the all time world record for most box office sales. Titanic has it with over $1.8 billion. The Dark Knight has a shot to make it. It is going to sell even more now that it came out in IMAX.

Most sales come out in the first weeks, don't they?

But since The Dark Knight already beat the record for the first weeks, I suppose it has a chance of beating Titanic.
I really doubt it though.
