I, myself, am a fan of Call of Duty4. One of the best things about COD4 is the ability to use perks. Perks are quite fun and can be very handy... but what are the best perks for you?

The great thing about COD4 is that perks depend on so much; what gun your using, how you use that gun (point and spray? Rush? Snipe?),the level you are on, what the majority of the enemy is doing, your own personal skill with the perks/gun/ and level.

This thread is here to talk about your favorite COD4 set ups. Describe your playing style, your perks, and some extra tips about how you use the perks to your advantage. Though there are COD4 threads out there, this one is to talk about customizing your perks and guns to your own liking and talking about how you make it all work out for your benifit.

Here are some of my favorite setups for COD4

ShotGun
with:Grip

Perk1:none
Perk2:UAV Jammer
Perk3:Martyrdom

The shotgun works best for extremely level minded people who are quick to pull the trigger, or extremely paranoid people who shoot at the first sign of movement.

The best maps to use this set up (or any shotgun class) are those with close quarter combat. When grip is on your shotgun, your bullets (shot) will remain in a more concentrated area (but it will still keep its same blast radius). UAV Jammer is perfect for the shotgun because the UAV is a false sence of protection, especaily for snipers on Bloc. The last thing you want is to walk into an ambush were everybody knows your postition and has guns aimed at you. Because you will most likely find yourself running from small room to small room, martyrdom is a great perk to kill them pesky corner campers who camp in the corners of rooms (its all fun and games camping untill someone drops a grenade as you shoot them. There is rarely ever a place to run.

Another perk that some people favor is Perk3's steady AIM. Steady Aim will decrease the shotgun's blast radius which will make it harder to aim, but will make it more deadly. Using Perk3 and grip decreases the blast radius and concentrates the fire even more (though I have done testing on this and found that grip will hardly make a difference if you use steady aim).

P90 Rush
with:Red Dot Site

Perk1:Bandolier
Perk2:Stopping Power
Perk3:Steady Aim or Deep Impact

Rush to a corner, stop, turn and fire. This set up is a spray n' pray mowdown class. SMGs have a nasty habit of running out of ammo fast so Bandolier is a must. Stopping Power is quite cheap with this gun (or any SMG) and will make them JuggySlu... Juggernaut users weep like babies as you knock them down to size.

Steady Aim improves the bullet spead (less spead) and allows for more accurite shots, another good perk is Deep Impact to shoot those who think they escaped from you after running behind the brick wall.

This class is for those who like to rush into battle. Requires knowlage of enemy camping spots and knowing were the enemy is before they know were you are. As soon as you stop, unless your guarding a small entrance point, your hardly anything more than a little boy with a pellet gun.

If the enemy is in the distance, never chase them down unless your within shooting range, try to run under/behind cover to meet up with the guy who thought he escaped your deadly power.

Heavy Sniper
with:nothing
and
P90
with:Red Dot Site

Perk1:Claymores
Perk2:OverKill
Perk3:Steady Aim or Deep Impact

Are you just now trying to use the sniper rifle? Not too handy with close combat and a pistol? Tired of waiting on a hill not finding anybody to snipe, and you know that if you move you will run into heavy fire while on the run? This is one of them classes were you can change your battle plan and go from sniping to rushing, or rushing to sniping. You have more options. Although if you plan on doing one or the other, then stick with a full breed of sniper or SMG Rush class. Perk 2 has some pretty good peks that can assist a sniper or P90 greatly.

That is a shory list of my favorite classes. I am usually not into sniping but I am experimenting and currently I am still experimenting with the sniper class.
