Everyone knows what school Uniforms are, but I wanted to know AG's side of the story.
Here are some of the for's and against's on School uniforms.
For- *It is believed to cause less fighting *People are more concentrated academically rather than with how they look. *It would eliminate offensive clothing in school
Against- *People don't get to be themselves *People are miserable *Clothes would cost more (depending on the type of uniform) What does AG think?
Uniforms wouldn't be so bad,if they didn't look like the clothes people where to church,or funerals,or weddings for that matter. They are just too formal.I used to have to where a uniform in Elementary school for about a year. Then they realized that the uniforms didn't really change anything, and that it made it worse because they had to get after kids who didn't the uniforms. Its was actually a bit like the prohibition act.A law made to reduce crime, but it ended up increasing it.My school actually is fairly strict about the dress code, because its a known blood school(full of people from the bloods gang,as in lots of gang related activity)so no one is allowed to where any red belts, belt buckles, shoes, hats, pants.Pretty much anything red that isn't a shirt. The only uniform we have is our gym uniform and the school has found a way to make a nice profit out of it.They decided to sell a uniform that is alot better than the one the district made, and they sell it for $5 more,or people can buy the less nice looking one, that is very plain.Anyways because of the way people are in my school, they would never think to implement rules like that. It's hard enough to get people to follow the dress code they have now.I get why they would want to have uniforms, but why do they have to look make kids miserable in the process.
I believe that more people would take their classes more seriously
Flipski, changing what clothes people wear wont make them smarter. Chances are it will make them want to be there less. If a kid is uncomfortable with their surroundings they wont be able to focus.
There would obviously still be separated groups, but not to such an extreme because it's not easy to see what type a person is if they all look the same
If people look the same, and people cant tell what type of a person someone is that brings up a huge problem. You can usually pick out what person is wicked into drugs by the way they dress. If everyone looks the same, a kid that is really good and against drugs could get involved with the wrong person.
You have to let people be who they are, or else it would be a bad environment. My cousins go to a school where they have to dress by code, and I was talking to them, and that school is twice as bad as the public school I go to. The point is, if you are strict on a kid, they revolt. Thats how I am, thats how all my friends are, that how everyone is.
Wow sorry for double post, but everything I quoted went un-quoted and every thing I didn't quote is quoted. Lets try that again.
