I got a question. Where did the cloverfield monster come from and did it die in the movie or is it still alive? Also is there going to be a Cloverfield 2?

darn. Well, websites don't know it all I gues.. LOL. I still like the GROWTH SYRUM (epic voice) Idea. . . .so why did the tick thingies make people blow up? Is that how the main monster reproduce like every other monster in monster movies?

They never told you were it came from but I didn't like it. The camera shaking made me sick.

yeah, but I thought that idea was completely original. DId anyone think the first person view plus the guys name being HUD was funny? I thought so. I mean seriously, the guys name is heads up display, and he's the guy carrying the camera. Gamers UNITE!!! form of, a tree! Tree powers activate!

I saw this fil last nite. It was badly overated. It just had the shaky cam thing and a great ad campaign. It certainly didnt live up to the hype. There were so many inconsistencies. Didnt live up to the hype.

Cloverfield was Okay.
I believe the monster came from a crevice in the bay... maybe it opened during the earthquake when the plates moved. Might be wrong, but thats how i see it.

the reason why people freaked out when the ecogoth was bit was because. . .well, she blew up. guts and all. Which I think is kinda sad death, I wanted her ta live =(. i still love the movie, you just need a strong stomach.

Yeah, I felt...like, not scared, just...Horrified when she died. And the way she died...

Amazing thing though: THE DAMN MONSTER DESTROYS ALL OF NEW YORK, BUT CAN'T EVEN SCRATCH THE SCREEN OF CAMERA! UNBELIEVABLE! Maybe the whole movie was a commercial for Canon or Sony or something...

i agree with manutd. There were so many inconsistencies. I mean 1 the bit in the tuneel the girl just randomly finds a pipe on the floor in the pitch dark. 2 we see the guy stab a lil monster with a metal pole but then the big 1 can sustain multiple air strikes and a whole payload from an f117 nighthawk. Its only flesh and bone. It would go straight through. There are missiles designed to pierce reinforced concrete they could go through a monster. 3 the bit when it takes down the helicopter. It was like 1000 feet below. Didit jump that high or what? 3rdly it was just dumb. A great ad campaign but nothing new/ good about it.

@ Woody. Wait, you're calling a monster movie dumb and pointing out inconsistancies? Monster movies are awesome because they don't make a lot of sense.
Part of the scaryness, and fun is that the monster defies physics and logic. I bet you watch Godzilla and point out how there could never be an animal that big, because it couldn't feed itself enough and die.
If we're picking the movie apart though, you also forgot how the one girl has a piece of re-bar through her sternum and magically doesn't die from shock.
Oh, Cloverfield could easily be an alien, and resist most kinds of attacks. It could be more than flesh and bone.

@cool9654
I think according to J.J. Abrams, the monster was already in the water before the attack. The object seen falling was supposedly a satellite that awakened it. And J.J. Abrams also said that he thought a sequel would be fun, and if they did one it would be the same monster attack but from a different point of view.

@thoad
There is no "GROWTH SYRUM". The anchorwoman at the beginning of the movie specifically says that it was an oil tanker that capsized. And I'm pretty sure the sound clip at the end of the credits didn't say "it's alive", but said "he's alive". This means it's referring to the main character, not the monster.

Sorry, but the director said himself, that the clip says "It's still alive."
