I'm fine with religions, as long as no one tries to force them on me.

i dont think there is anything wrong woth religion. but i think that you allways should be able to choose the religion that works best for you and not be forced by anyone to choose an other religion.

In my opnion
Religion is important and should be treated with respact and understanding BUT you really should rely on being a batter person ( not that someone here is a bad person... ). I dont mean that you should stop doing things that benfit your self, or fun things that may have a bad taste to them but to be more mindfull of other people around you and try to stay on their batter side.

Again - A personal opinion

If religion is legit then why do so many horrific things happen on a daily basis?

Here is my four points on religion.

#1. Every Religion is equal. Religion is founded to explain the unexplainable, such as the creation of the universe, life, humanity, and so on... Religion is also created to give people hope. When people are in danger, and they are religious, they usually pray to their god(s). It gives people something to hold onto when the going gets tough. Also, each religion has some type of good versus evil story behind it. The popular Christian belief is god/jesus versus the devil. For Hindu people it's Darma versus Karma.

#2. God(s) are an entity that we create. Every person's god is different, and everyone has different beliefs. In the bible, it says that being a homosexual is a sin, right? but I have seen homosexual christians, and I have actually asked one, and he said, and I quote, "God didn't want that as a sin." Also proving the point that we have power over what a sin is. Shortly after cloning was discovered/invented, the CHURCH laid down the law that cloning anything was a sin. God didn't make a new ten commandments, did he? The church said it.

#3. Religion is equal in every person. Religion means the same to everyone in the same way. No one believes that their religion is lesser to another. Look at the city of Jerusalem. It has been fought over for hundreds of years by Christians and Muslims. If the Christians thought that their religion was lesser to the Muslim religion, then the crusades would have never happened, and if the Muslims thought that their religion was lesser than Christianity, then the Crusades would have been a success. If one religion was sought as lesser, they would convert to the higher power.

#4. Every Religion has some type of after life/ recreation in death. This is based upon the idea that there is a higher world than our own. The common depiction of the afterlife is if you are good, then you go to a paradise, where all of your dreams come true, and if you are a bad person, you go down to be tortured for all eternity.

No, people have.

I've explained this to many people.

Religion hasn't fueled war, our inabilities to gently resolve problems caused them.

Eh, I believe that there's some higher power out there, but I enjoy sinning too much to bring myself to be part of an organized religion. Not that I don't have pretty firm morals; I just think that if a God brought us into the world, I think he would want us to live life the way we want it, not the way he planned it for us. Otherwise we wouldn't have free will.

Religion ha caused no wars...where did this come from? Its just that the leaders would use fake religious reasons for wars so the people would support them.

@Pryo,

Religion was not created to explain the unexplainable. The concept of a higher being was. Religion was created to control the mass population.

#4...meh, a tactic used so people pay attention to the religion and become afraid they will go to hell if they did not follow it. Terrorism.

There is a difference between religion and faith. Keep that in mind.
I'm not religious at all. Yet I have faith that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I don't attend Church, because I'm convinced it's a scam to get our money. But I have conversations with God, I know that He is real.
In b4 LOL CRAZY NOOB, because I'm perfectly sane. According to my therapist, anyways.
That being said? Looking back at archaeological records, the mark of an advancing society is the belief or acknowledgment of a higher power.

I wouldn't start a war over religion, but I am a bit religious in my opinion. I see nothing wrong with it.

In my view there is no "Religion" it is only a tool to create war to make men hate each other the crusades is a good example of this those &quotopes" and alout of the Christians kapt saying that if you dont fight for God you well burn in hell...please.
