First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

That is what happens when I screw around with Freeverse.

Congrats to Hyper with the smashing comeback. And good theme Wolf, I'll definately enter. Then again, I always do so...

I need to join in this again. Here goes my attempt

no one around, nothing to see
but waves of this endless ocean
There's no way of knowing
which way this boat is going
but by the stars in the sky
or by the sun and the moon

Which way should I row
to get to the shore, oh
how I wish I was knowing
of which way this boat was going
I've no knowledge of the sky,
how I wish for directional boon!

Brownie points for those who get the Willie Wonka reference in there.

Congrats to Hyper and the others for winning!

This is an intriguing topic. Wish I had more time for it. DX

Lol, I'm bad at this. >_>

I shall improve, though!

*mutters something incomprehensible about how he'll enter something good*

The deadline is in four days, and so far there have only been two entries. Logic concludes Parsat's brief appearance has terrified everyone.

West

Sunlight...
Opens up my eyes...
But not for the first time,
I find my self trapped
In a cage of lies.

Those who decieved us,
Who spoke from books of knowledge,
Led us to our graves,
Oh! I cry...

Asking: 'What could now save us?'
Pull us out of the fire
That envelopes our bodies?
Hold our souls and then never
Let go?'

Westward facing I lie now,
Never to breathe the sweet air.
Only now do I know
That we were all wrong!

As the stars say their prayers,
And the whole Earth adores Him,
Darkness flees in His prescense,
And inside my tomb, I face...
West.

Darkness...
Closes up my eyes...
And now for the first time,
I see the truth that
I have been missing.

This is great. So far I am guaranteed one of the top 3 places. Seriously, why is no one entering this week?

Lost

Walking around the city,
Don't got no place to go,
Everyone stares with pity,
I have sunk really low.

Getting lost at every turn,
Directions are obsolete,
Nobody has a concern,
While I wonder down the street.

Do my eyes deceive me,
A signpost in the clear,
Lost I will not be,
Now my goal draws near.

A quick one because I don't have much time.

I ain't complaining m8. Though on a serious note, it is a tad disheartining. I enjoy reading other's works. Only having four to read is disappointing.

I should have it by the deadline - three days, right?

Yep. Good luck m8.

I have finals, which sucks because I absolutely love this theme. T.T
I'll probably crank something out on the last day, but it won't be pretty.
I hope more people enter, though. With such an interesting theme, there should be some interesting poems.

Thanks to my powers of procrastination, I'm submitting this now.

The Abyss

Stumbling blindly,
'Where am I?' he wonders.
Lost in his own abyss,
Left to ponder and regret.

His dark thoughts emerge,
Hungry predators, sensing prey.
For they know he is helpless,
For he fears the "come what may."

He is lost, with no direction.
Drowning in a puddle.
A cesspool of sadness,
Of which he exists to forget.

But the light shines through,
A light through the darkness.
His hope beckons to him,
To show him the way.

The Road

As I walk upon my path of doom
I pick up a morning flower
Stuff it in my shirt pocket
And down my path of doom

I look around my path of doom
And I see the woman I love
I give her a kiss before I continue
Down my path of doom.

I begin to run down my path of doom
I shall no longer be distracted
of into the dark abyse
Down my path of doom

I look down into the path of doom
Crowds of people begging for me to step down
I look at my flower and I remember the kiss
And I turn around from my path of doom
