personally i think we are doing fine as long as we would learn how to fight like this they are driving out everyday practically expecting roadside bombs. they need snipers on point to watch the desert to keep them from activating it but we are in this for th right reasons

I didn't finish it, but from the context you can tell I am not for people being used as pawns.
Well, I don't like it either, but I don't call soldiers pawns.
I'm not sure which crappy news sources that you frequent but the fact that there's a timetable and that we're handing over leadership to the Iraqis is already old news from the sources that I frequent.
Well, You can find the website to that "crappy news source" here. But it was breaking news that US troops withdrew from the lagest province in Iraq. Because this was good news from Iraq, this story was buried.

No, its because the news this weekend was focusing on the Hurricane heading towards New Orleans, and I was too busy playing Geometry Wars .

Theres no such thing as winning or losing. We're not playing ping pong. There is no winner in this war. It's like vietnam.

it seems like a major failure if anyone dies

That's a very ignorant statement. Everyone dies in a war, that is inevitable. Do you think you can stop people who kill for fun by just asking? Hell no. You have to use force, thats the way it works.

And yes we have made progress i the middle east over all. We have driven Hussein out of Iraq and started there government. And the Iraqi military is now responsible for patrolling 11 of the Iraqi provinces by themselves.

We have diminished Binladin killing some of his top generals. We have nearly destroyed the Taliban. Both groups have been driven top the hill to hide.

If that is not progress i don't know what is.

I think if Obama gets elected as president he will take some troops out of Iraq.

There is no winner in this war.

Well when there is no opponent, I think you are the winner?

Ehh..? Its all about win/loss. If you win more then you lose, you win!

The war in Afghanistan though isn't a war against people who kill for fun.

And yes we have made progress i the middle east over all. We have driven Hussein out of Iraq and started there government.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I'm of the opinion that alienating nearly every government in a region in order to establish one that is slightly more friendly to you then it was before isn't progress.

We have diminished Binladin killing some of his top generals. We have nearly destroyed the Taliban. Both groups have been driven top the hill to hide.

They had been in hiding but recently (especially since we invaded Iraq) have begun resurgences).

I would differ in opinion in that I don't count phyrric victories as victories and that I don't consider manpower to be a sole measure of such a victory as you must also account for money and equipment.

I wasn't referring to only man power. War is all about winning. Getting more resources, land, etc. Whatever it is that is for the advantage of the nation. The gains must overcome the losses though. There are many things to take in account...

So you are saying that a war's outcome will determine how well a country will do in the future right, Drace?

How hard it is to find a 6'3" Arab on dialysis treatment? He has to keep that machine somewhere in those hills. I think we would have found him by now if we hadn't diverted troops from Afghanistan to Iraq.
