I do not think any country could invade the US. Every house you go to they have atleast a gun in the house. In the South its different. Theres bout 5 guns or more in each house. Does anyone agree with me?
America is pretty ****ed if any of our enemy nations develops powerful enough EMP's/ nuclear weapons. A high enough power EMP could take out America's electrical power for years and destroy any connections between the states. Just putting that out.
The problem is, to develop that powerful of an EMP, some country that is allied to US will catch wind of it. And eventually they will be stopped. Unless its China. They could easily do it in secret.

Russia made non-nuclear EMP generators first. They're probably already out there, along with stockpiles of nukes that went missing after the Cold War. A nuke causes an EMP anyway, so that would likely be used, unless they were doing a long-term ground invasion or were trying to occupy the land and didn't want to deal with radiation and things, then they'd use a non-nuclear EMP.

Asia is too big, you cant have access to both sides of North/South America Unless you live on North/South America or live at Antarctica. the Middle-East is mostly landlocked, If you manage to get past the U.S. Navy then congratulations, you survived. but you still have to land which would be partially impossible because of the Military bases on the coasts.. Ok, you make it. but you have to get past the fact that there are 90 guns for every 100 citizens in the U.S., And the coastlines are heavily populated, not to mention the Military.

One of the reasons given for the fall of berlin is that hitler had sent his whole army away from germany to fight in eastern and western fronts so once the russians broke their line of defence there were not much of trained soldiers to defend berlin.

They still have plenty of men stationed in the US, that's not the problem. The problem is they are overconfident about their strength. Machinery isn't perfect, it has huge chances of failing, or a power surge happens one day, and the Russians hear about it. Boom. America's already gonna be over-run. Until they get all the system's back running and functional, the Russians are already half an hour away. Not the easiest thing to defend from planes when they're this close

They can defend against it (NMF) but I honestly doubt it can work. It's just so the Russians, or whoever else wants to attack the US to feel frightened by it. I doubt it would work on a nuclear warhead
May be they can take down few of missiles but if 1 missile out of missile barrage of 10 reaches its target, its enough.
The US has more than enough missiles to shield itself and intercept enemy nukes. How did you think they staved off the tension when for half a century they had way more nukes aimed at them by the Soviets?
