This is a spin-off of the original GFX Art Battle, but with some updated rules and changes. Please make sure to read the rules before entering, since they have been modified. Good luck, we look forward to seeing some creative artistic entries!
Competition Rules 1. Must be hand drawn, either on paper or in a program. It can then be manipulated in an graphics program. But unoriginal artwork cannot be used as the main focus. Copyrighted images cannot be used. All pieces containing copyrighted images will be disqualified. 2. Submissions must follow the current theme that has been chosen by a moderator for that week. If you submit more than one piece, please clarify which one you would like to be judged. 3. If your image is larger than 600 pixels wide, please provide a link to the image instead of posting it in the forum. Otherwise, the image will be cut off. 4. Artists cannot win in subsequent weeks. You can still submit, but if you won the week before, you cannot get first place again the next week. 5. After the deadline, a moderator will pick the winner, and they will be awarded a 25 AP award.
don't really get it..how could the judging be so hard...if the judgment is based only for the artistic skills..overall quality, layout , how the stuff is placed in the pic etc. etc. so the winner would be either tiamont (or what it was)... or cen...so with these two...if it's hard to decide...you could flip a coin :P
The winner was easy, the rest was hard. Also, it's based on a LOT of things... Mainly visual appeal and some sort of 'oh hey' function with the pic (for example humor or thought provoking stuff). It has to be balanced, but fugly Paint art can win if the idea seems good enough.
Also extra points for paintz
No. No extra points for Paint entries just for being Paint. Extra points for awesome Paint entries as opposed to awesome GIMP entries, because it taks more work to be awesome in Paint.

It doesn't really rank anywhere. The only awesome that is more impressive than ordinary awesomes, is the awesome made from fail. And Paint is fail. On here, I've only seen Strop and Cenere make awesome from Paint, while several have made really sweet traditional art.
Was my jack sparrow bad -_-' anyways thats not fair, paint is alot easier, I wan't to see them drawn normally, besides, normal pencil is made by hand, the others, their techincnly not made by them, rather than a comuter program =(
Making AWESOME things in Paint does, because it is VERY DIFFICULT to make awesome things in Paint.
I have not seen awesomely made pics made in Paint in this comp in a while. Awesome ideas executed in Paint still have a fair chance of winning, but NOT because they are made in Paint.
And no, your Jack Sparrow was not bad, it was just mimicked.

That's not actually true. Some aspects of digital drawing is much easier than traditional art, but definitely not all aspects. I'd be kinda offended if you were to say about any of my digital drawings that the program did most of the work. But I'll admit that some think two brush strokes and fifty filters means they've made a drawing, and that I think those people are wrong.
omg argen, do you only read the bad stuff lol, I'm saying that ALOT OF PEOPLE thought that I didn't do it, the undead art was out of 4 XD besides I'm not thinking negativly, I'm asking Zophie's opinion
Ne, judging. First time in quite a while that I'm doing it on my own, and if I don't get Cen back soon I'll probably need to hand it over to someone else, because I don't get it done on time.
That aside, this was really hard to judge D: Also, if I miss 'e's here and there, it's because my e key broke. Highly impractical. Comments on the pics will also be kept somewhat short.
Champions exhibition: crimsonblade55
Potentially the longest entry in the ASC...
First place: xtiamotx
Not that your more elaborately detailed works haven't been really good, but your observation about what wins in this comp is correct... And hey, you're pretty good at that kind of thing too. So grats on winning~
Second place: Cenere
I really recent how Cen with his huge lack of self confidence and bad luck with critique wrote that I begged him to make this his official entry again, specially because every time I place Cenere's entry in the top three I feel paranoid because we're friends in real life and at least one person has already stated he thinks I'm doing it because of that. I'M NOT. (Also deleted a few of Cen's post upon request.) I just think this pic deserves second place, regardless of who made it.
Third place: fst6
Possibly the entry this week that amused me the most... Imagine the bullets in those guns... Imagine the magma-bleeding shot-wound-craters...
All the rest in the order they're pasted into my .txt file:
Sssssnnaakke
Colourful. Verily. War on drugs?
Ogt2
I actually liked the first version of this one better. But uhm, simple depiction of the explodey thing that is war.
Gantic
I have only 'whut' to say to this one. Normally your entries are flying high, but this one went over my head. It's very pleasing graphics, though.
kingryan
Would possibly have made more sense if the sticks were visually numbers, but lulz.
Zega Right here! I think this is definitely on of your better entries, Zega. Though th background seems a bit too peacful for a war setting~
Pois0nArr0w
Remnants of war. Not much to say here, he's to long gone to hear it anyway. The skull, that is.
WackWeeper
This is in my opinion almost outright beautiful (and something I'd actually consider hanging on my wall in big format), but just not quite - wary nough to place. It does have a sense of distant doom coming at ya, though.
LufffiStudios
Your floodfilling precision needs work~ But yah. Kinda wish we'd never gone past the arrow stage.
thisisnotanalt
NO. NO RLOAD, PEEZE! ... I'm sleepy, mkay? Well drawn gun, makes bettr sense with the addd smok. Oh and, did you post link for your reference pic? I guess I should bash you about that. *bashes you with a canoe paddle*
nichodemus
Motivational posters like that have always seemed weird to me. Are people really patriotic nough for posters to be effective?
psychomonkey
This is a very well done drawing, but it just doesn't really articulate the theme. It's a very nice portrait, though.
DarKArgeN
Very likly to be true. Good shading~~~
JereN
Uh oh, they don't have good odds, do they? Interesting shortcut to drawing a crowd~
And with that, we're done. Or I'm done. Excpt I wanna show you this almost-done drawing I was making, relevant to the theme (not rally for it, since I can't participate).
Will post it in my own thread once it's finishd.
Theme: Crime Deadline: Tuesday 26th of May
And my finger really hurts now. That e key requires hard pushing to register it. :<

Sorry....... See, this is why I am not supposed to make lighthearted and joking posts....
