There is research that just came out that may change you're mind about being a vegetarian.

Scientists have discovered that after being a vegetation for a long time, it can start to shrink you're brain.

Vegetarians are 6x more likely to suffer from brain shrinkage than us meat eaters. But that does not mean you should switch to meat and don't eat veggies, you just need to have a nice balance.

The brain needs B-12 to stay healthy, and veggies don't provide that. Meat is the e=only excellent source of B-12, and so if you don't eat meat, you don't have B-12, thus the shrinkage of the brain.

Ya, I'm definately pro-balanced diets over being a vegitarian or eating large quantites of meat with no fruits/veggies. However I think that the natural vitamins and other goodies arguement is moot in most develpoed areas where you can just as easily take supplements to correct deficincies in a diet.

Is it also true that you can be quite a bit weaker than if you were eating meat?

Even if you do eat the protein plants?

Yes that is true.

Meat helps with you're bone density and getting stronger muscles.

Heh, I'm a vegetarian... Probably a slightly malnourished one, my mom weren't good at keeping a proteiny diet. But my IQ measured up to 146 a few years ago... My memory is pretty bad though, could possibly be due to the long period of not really having anything to eat which I went through last winter... Something probably got damaged there or something. But I'm not really worried about that study.

eh... unfortunately while a lack of vitamin B-12 has been linked to an increased risk of brain diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer, the link to the article that you have posted sources another article article at couriermail.com.au which says the similar information but still does not cite what oxford study yielded those results. Moreover, there are many factors that relate to brain loss in the age group 61-87, including the fact that the body and brain naturally shrink as a part of aging. To me it really seems a stretch to pull a vitamin B-12 link to brain shrinkage without even naming a study or mentioning the other factors that are a part of the natural part of aging.

Well i've never heard of anything like this...although i absolutely believe it. Go meat!

Seriously though, veggies are still good for you, but a balanced diet is always better for you, rather then eating only veggies and thent aking supplements to help u get your nutrients.

Ehm... It's also quite possible to just eat potatoes and the other good stuff from chips... Lots of plants have protein, milk and products made from milk as well as eggs contain protein to...
Vegetarians doesn't only eat vegetables...
