yeah, so it turns out that a long time ago when people started documenting dates of history and making a timeline, they messed up. Jesus Christ was supposedly living during a time when this one king(dont know the name) was ruling. Well, it turns out that this king died somewhere between 6 BC- 4 BC. How could he die before christ if christ was alive? yeah so its actually somewhere between 2002-2004. Weird, huh? I asked my theology professor about it and he confirmed. i just find this crazy

There were actual several times throughout history that authorities have just decided to change the date because calendars weren't "meshing up" properly. This happened on several occasions when it would be like Monday, June 14 and the next day was like Tuesday, June 30. Ridiculous stuff like that has happened throughout time as calendars developed from a state of extreme imperfection.

Thats why you hear people say "circa ___" because even if the date is down to a certain day, the calendars are screwed up and they're really not sure how accurate it is.

Well, as Moe said, 2000 years ago, the calendars weren't perfect, and getting exact dates from back then would be almost impossible...

That explains the discrepensy.

well since they messed up the dates we could be living in 2013 or so..you never know though because as moe exlpained back then a day could skip 20.

It would be more of a hassle to figure out the exact date it really is and change it all over the world...

It'd be like saying that Jan. 1, 2009 would be changed to Jan. 1, 2004...

It wouldn't work.

Theres also the fact that time zones arent completely accurate

In ireland we are actually in the same zone as england...

Except that it gets dark in England quicker than in Ireland...

Its simply because of timezones are split into hours instead of minutes :|

They pretty much have the calander fixed now so there is no need to change the dates again.

Weird...very weird...although yes, it is very likely that it could've happened.

But its jsut time, its just numbers. Were still living as we do back then or now, so its not much...

It'd be a bit like time traveling though, if somebody actually decides to change the calender date...and we'd all have a blast.

All i gotta say is taht the textbook maker people better get reprinting
