I think this is a great idea.if you like the user and add them that will give them the privilege to comment you.But if you don't add them you can't comment them.What I'm trying to say is that you can only receive comments from people you like.If you see a user cursing at everyone you don't add them.Then that way you don't have to put up with their cursing.
This would decrease much spam and flaming, yet (after a period of time) you can easily report to an Admin/Mod (with reasonable evidence) and have them banned. I'm sure the only reason why this hasn't been made is becuase of that reason. Creatin gnew HTML just to solve a problem thhat can already be fixed would be a nuisance, though it is a great idea, it might not be followed through...
Blocked as in no text communications at all, or specified user-to-user communication.
Yet spamming and flaming are against the rules of Ag, after a warning, maybe a second, users will get banned for spamming... so if a user continues to spam, even if they are 'blocked', they will get banned.

Please pardon me.I misread what you said.I thought it said increase.And you are correct.That would decrease the flaming and spamming too.
Each passing day that this is not implemented, I get 10 messages filled with nonsense. I would LOVE to just block them completely, but sadly all I can do is delete the messages. This should be enough, but apparently they are thick headed and do not look at the warnings on my profile. Having the option to block users from the profile will be a life saver to me and others.
When a blocked user comes on to the profile, they can view it, but they can't comment on it. Instead of "this user has blocked comments", it will say "this user has blocked you from commenting", or something around there. I don't want to block comments COMPLETELY, I want others to comment, I just want to block users that are annoying and deserve to be blocked. I still remember the days of no pop up blockers, I regretted owning a computer just for that reason, they popped up all over the place and caused many headaches. Now that we have pop up blocker, the screen is cleaner and I no longer have to clean trash everyday.
I truly want to have an AG with this option; yeah, maybe those that are lower ranked and are unknown won't have this problem... yet. Once they get more active and more known in AG, they will have this problem too. Blocking a few users does not mean that they will have no chance to get friends on their friends list, that just means that they have less spam and other nonsense to take care of.
