Well there's been some great answers, I think! 42! Certainly gets there. I think the other answers mostly prove the point that "why" is an annoying question that cannot be satisfactorily answered. But feel free to keep trying.

God is of another universe and no questions can be asked. This universe is not entitled to the same logic as ours. Thus, any "why" or "how" questions concerning it are illogical.
Say for example if you ask how would God just poof things in our universe...
I couldn't give you a straight answer because our logic is of relevant to our reality. Since God is not of our reality, we cannot use our logic to answer such a question and we have no means of acquiring any other logic. So it can be that God is a nerd on a computer playing a Sims game, a parrot looking thing with magical powers, or something totally unimaginable!
...Although, I can't answer your question, it is of perfect sense.
