Keep this debate clean. I have a few questions about god and Jesus. Now i am a christian and i believe but it's not about me. Well when people go oh Jesus and god is a bunch of bull-hunky, and yet when they have a gun pointed to their head they go oh Jesus oh god please help me, i don't get that. And another thing is how people can sit there and not believe in anything. To me believing as some say is being afraid of dying, but I am not really. I think believing gives hope to whats really out there and to sit there being really dark and not believing in anything is just not human, to me at least. So my big question even to me, is god or Jesus real, or anything we seem to think is real...real?
As a fellow christian, I do believe that Jesus lived, and still lives. In fact, the song I am listening to ATM is What would life be like? By Big Daddy Weave, which talks about what would life be like without Jesus. I can't imagine what life would be like without Jesus. What would be believe in? Where would we get help in times of need? Where would be rules to help out humanity?
When people say stuff about God thats bad, and yet begs for help in life-threatening situations, is not hypocritial, although some may think it is. At first, I thought it was very hypocritical. however, the more you think about it, the more reason there is. They want to act like they are in control of their lifes, and that they believe that everything they do or happens to them is of their doing. In a life-threatening situation though, it is very much different. At that time, they know they need help, and they are so desperate that they will even pray to somebody they either don't believe in, or think that is bad. The best you can hope for is that they live through the situation and turn to God more often, instead of just using His name in vain.

I DO get that, though I agree it is sad. From my perspective that is a case of someone who claimed not to believe but only because they really did. The flip side of that coin would be the supposed believer who doesn't seem to really believe (I guess you would call it a crisis of faith). Either way it makes me sad, because the person in question couldn't find a way to be honest with themselves aobut what their real feelings were.
I'd like to think, that if it turns out I'm wrong abut this whole god thing, I'll be judged on my actions and not my beliefs. And I feel pretty comfortable with my actions in that regard. I think it's hard for many people to be self aware.
Jesus did live(read any 6th grade textbook and I guarantee it mentions a jewish man named Jesus who claimed to be god's son)as to was he the son of god, we have no proof except for the miracles that he did which many people don't believe so I say that he was but ask any jewish man and he will say that he wasn't.
Actually Jesus was more then a prophet he was true God and true Man he lived and died then rose and acended into heaven where he will one day take all beleivers with him to be in his glory.
True yet Jews were a chosen nation a royal preisthood a people belonging to God yet they rejected Jesus and had him crucified for his attempts to bring them back to the true faith.
You assume that believing in nothing makes you dark.Au contraire, athiests are actually quite jolly people,as they believe that when they are done living, thats it.Enjoy it while it lasts.
So you're Jewish, MsterXantos? Because that's what Jesus taught. Anyways, let's get back on topic. Make your own thread if you think Jesus will be happy.
Since the English language is from Europe, deeply rooted in Christianity, it is not uncommon for the people who speak English to have lingual habits that reflect Christianity.

Jewish, Christan, Not very different. We both have similar bibles/storys. Noah's ark is in both religions. Mosas as well. But you're last saying was a bit crude.
RE: belief and hope are the thigs that make life worth living. people have to believe in something better, if they dont, theyre probably emos (no offence)
Ummmm no that is not true. I do think people should believe in something but w/e makes them happy. And you dont know the meaning of emo haha!
