Zophia poked me to make a thread. I know this will die off quickly, but I guess I could just show off some work in progress, and what I have managed to do by combining MsPaint and GIMP.
The first one is the outline. It is done in MsPaint, since GIMP was acting up.
The next two is the coloured result, both coloured in GIMP (It was acting okay again) The difference is the outline. The upper one is with the original outline:
With this one I copied the outline and blured it. So the original outline is on top, the next layer is blured, and then the colour come:
The last one here is what I will think of as the conclusion. A gradient layer from GIMP, smudged out and adjusted, again with the smudge tool. The lazy solution, I know.
Work in progress, right? I do not know if I am going to make it any better.
If I was Kai, I'd just ageshift to a time where I had shorter hair > >
Well, since he ultimately hates having short hair, and that ageshifting doesn't work like that, I don't think it would be an option. Though I think he feels a bit better now, because the hair was getting in his eyes all the time, and he don't have a comb.
Though I dont' know the quality standard for akuma-kittens, it's a pretty pic.
Well, half hour pixel picture, so rather low quality that one. He was the cutest thing (much like Kai was, when he was a kid), and then he grew sarcastic and cold like shapeshifters do. But I like drawing the kittens (or cubs, or puppies, og what they are called..), their heads are so round... And they look chubby (one of 'Kuma's siblings were chubby after growing up as well > >.
D:
Only the Castle can do that, Kai's ageshifting is based on insecurity and fear (and being pathetic), which means he simply ends up being a child with the same haircut as he had before, and all too big clothes. I wonder when he will grow from that...
I really need to read more into the fiction you have going with your characters. . . .
Well, most is Cen, he isn't interesting, he is just pathetic.
Whenever I hear of a new one, I need to know the backstory > >
I try to keep it short, but I love to tell > >
Where has lotz of teh storeez been stored?
My head? Most of them are in my head, especially these days, where I am a little tired of writing (20 pages of preject does that to you, especially followed by 20 pages more due to a week later...)
Mitnev poked my curiosity some days ago, by suggesting a traditional only-contest/making a round of the ASC for only traditional "encil/pen on paper" art. I wondered, which of the techniques am I best at? I do not draw much these days, thanks to having been stressed throughout a month, and using a lot of energy on my studies throughout the last semester, which means I have done most of my art on the computer, and only some sketches, and one large drawing for my brother, on paper.
So, time to test myself. Starting sketch:
Made on paper, with my b2 pencil, and I will be working with that sketch in both techniques.
Plans: Black lineart Possibly flats Colours
Afterwards I might test my skills with lineless, but we'll see bout that.
Anyway, it would be nice to hear your input on this, which looks better, what I might need to practice on, and possibly if I should make my long planed thread about colour techniques for all.
I wanna do it too... (Also, ha, ruined your post streak. :P)
I think I've commented on those drawings off of AG? Still really like the tea-and-books sketch, really looking forward to see how all the versions will turn out.
Now... Pitch me an idea to copy your little project with? Since I gave you one?
