Zophia poked me to make a thread. I know this will die off quickly, but I guess I could just show off some work in progress, and what I have managed to do by combining MsPaint and GIMP.
The first one is the outline. It is done in MsPaint, since GIMP was acting up.
The next two is the coloured result, both coloured in GIMP (It was acting okay again) The difference is the outline. The upper one is with the original outline:
With this one I copied the outline and blured it. So the original outline is on top, the next layer is blured, and then the colour come:
The last one here is what I will think of as the conclusion. A gradient layer from GIMP, smudged out and adjusted, again with the smudge tool. The lazy solution, I know.
Work in progress, right? I do not know if I am going to make it any better.
Kidding aside, the final version is pretty dang awesome. Instant fave if this had been an artsite. If you want constructive criticism, I could possibly find some. Like the green flameliness being brighter for a better glowing effect, and said glowing effect reflecting down on the shoulder. But it's awesome.
hrmmn... The hammer's handle is curved, intentional? And I'd repeat what Zoph said... Body postures no less then awesome... uh... colours are perfect! Awesome... and well... good job! I hope to see more from you!
You should not listen to that, Zophia. It just want to take over your drawing!! And I think the green light is a bit diffuse..
Pazx, uhm... Actually, yes. Some hammers and axes have curvy handles, giving it more force, when you use it. This might be a little too curvy, but exagerating helps the understanding, right?
Also really stoked to note you've ventured into the scary world of RGB! I guess a possible focus would be to investigate shading styles but pfft, whatever!
Funny thing is that I usually work in GIMP, at the moment by scanning in traditional artwork mainly done with pencil, and colour it up in GIMP. I did some MsPaint like some years ago, because I did not have any real programme. The computer I had had no internet, so GIMP was not a solution. So generally I do know how to use GIMP and colours and so, but for the contests I will probably keep using MsPaint.
Anyway, I really like that middle one of the smudged things - other than the plant stuff being rather bright, it actually has a nice aspect of a realistic look in it. And anthro Pokemons - the lols.
AG refuses to acknowledge the ´ above the e. It's silly and annoying, but that's the way it is...
Ignoreignoreignore... Knew I forgot something in my delusional state of mind... That is why you do not show old art...
X) *pats your sick and delusional head gently* I hope you feel better soon.
It's actually really pretty. I'm sure you could refine the technique and colour choices and use it in the future for backgrounds or something. It's your frrriiieeennndddddd~~~
Kinda hoping one day they'll allow more letters and symbols. I can't even write Ã... (see?).
