Yeah I was just watching the news and this dude killed this other dude on mistake and didn't go to jail so I was just wondering you opinion on this subject.
I still like the Danish law... If it can be proven someone was the direct cause of someone else's death, they can be punished for their - irresponsibility. It's not nearly as hard a punishment, but as they didn't intend to kill (or at least it couldn't be proven that they did) it seems fair.
id it that one.I think he needs to stay in jail minimum of 1 year.If they have proof he didn't then it still wouldn't be fair he took the life away from an innocent.
Depends. If it was accidental in the sense that one dude was going off a ramp on a dirt bike and the bike flew away from his body and hit another dude, killing him, the the man on the bike should not be punished.
But if it was accidental in the sense that some guys were drunk and fooling around with guns, then, yes there should be punishment.
I think it depends on the situation. If someone like hits the other person with a car and it kills them, they should be punished in a small way. If it's less direct though they shouldn't.
That is called manslaughter... Murder means something along the lines of, with intent to kill someone. "Accidental" is usually manslaughter.
The person might not have gone to jail because of maybe 3 reasons.
1) maybe because his lawyer was really good, and acquitted him. 2) maybe he got off his manslaughter sentence with community service hours 3) He kill someone in self defense.
that is like hypothetically driving in slippery conditions, and running into a mailbox, the mailbox flies of and punctures the head of an elderly man. Yea it wasn't intentional, so how could he be tried for murder?
