I think we should amend the U.S. Constitution so George W. Bush ( the greatest President ever) can stay in office. George Bush is what America needs. People have strong negative feelings about George Bush *cough cough Hate with a flaming passion cough* but I think that's mostly Rooted in ignorance and the pack mentality. So GEORGE W. BUSH third term!!!!! ( the contents of this post have been paid by GEORGE W. BUSH for president..jk) But really George Bush- his pictures besides totally friggin awesome in the dictionary. The second purpose of this post is to see how ticked off and passionate people respond to this...lol. Well vent, rage against the post, or support me. it's your choice. =]

I don't care if there were WMDs or not, what did they find in Iraq? Mass-graves. Stopping a genocide is a great reason to invade a country. America is the most powerful country on earth. Those who have the ability, have the responsibility. The world is too small for any more Hitlers.

Why is it our responsibility when our own country is falling apart? We can't police the world. And we shouldn't even try when there is so much wrong with our country.

Stopping a genocide is a great reason to invade a country.

And I don't see us invading China when they are slaughtering people on daily basis.

In all fairness, they can fight back.

Oops! I should have quoted that, because it came from the declaration of independence.

Sorry, but I find this statement arrogant, and incidentally, so does the majority of the world. It's this kind of attitude that has caused the US to, politically, fall out of favor with world politics at large.

Actually, to be fair I think this phrasing is actually less arrogant that variations of it. But nonetheless it does imply that the values of your country are "the right values", which is the core of the problem. As kris has pointed out, every country has their own problems, regardless of whether you deem them a violation of human rights or not and sometimes it is a bitter pill to swallow but it isn't always (or rarely is) our 'lace' to attempt to resolve them for two reasons:

a) regardless of intention the US has approached such matter with hostile movements.

b) this ends up rocking the boat which replaces one problem with a worse problem.

So distaste for genocide is a bad value?
this ends up rocking the boat which replaces one problem with a worse problem.
So soldiers in Iraq is worse then genocide?

No they can't. Babies can't fight back. A minority of political dissidents can't fight back. And small invaded counties don't have the means to repel a giant.

I realize that since China is our buddy the government there doing the same things Saddam in Iraq is okay. But seriously we can't use that as our excuse for starting a war if we're not going to "save" every country that has terrible human rights abuses and invades other countries.

First, I'd like to point out I originally typed: "That's what I'm sayin'" Ok, but a small country can't fight back. Does that mean they should be allowed to commit atrocities while the giant sleeps? Sorry, I'm not the "See no evil" type.

You have to start somewhere. I know that the US is chummy with plenty of fascist genocidal regimes, and I say it needs to stop.

No but the giant shouldn't be napping on the job when it comes to their own home. Home first neighbors next.

Honestly my problem is the lying that it took to get us there. I do not think that George has a humanitarian bone in his buddy. But if we had a president who did and said to us:

"The people are crying out for help and we are going in to stop an asshole from hurting innocent people and we will free them, help them found a reasonable government, then get the hell out when they don't want our help anymore," I would have been all for it.

I want to help everyone who wants help. But our own family needs to come first. When our own country is doing fine then I'm definitely for helping those that want our help.

The problem here is that this current administration is not doing this to help and it would not ever attack or invade a terrible country and take out a terrible homicidal dictator if he's kissing our butts. Only when they don't is when we attack. That seems pretty messed up to me.

But if we attack the suck-ups first, we will alienate the other suck-ups, and the non-suck-ups will still hate us. It would seem to me that we should fight those who are hostile and evil before friendly and evil.

As much as I love Bush (The president) I don't think this country needs him again,he partially helped destroy the nation.

Alright, I made a deal with dyrnwyn that I would us "LOL" if I actually laughed. So here goes:

As much as I love Bush (The president)
"LOL"

I almost forgot we were talking about Bush. Just goes to show that 40 posts outlasts the average American attention span by about 35. No, I of course don't think he should change the constitution. I'm conservative, not republican.
