I am not trying to insult any Vegans or Vegetarians, but I am just saying that I don't understand it. Humans are Omnivores, we NEED meat.

well of course you can be just as healthy as a vegetarian as you can as a meater. but i really see NO point in being a vegan, becourse that is just UNHEALTHY. youll eventually die, if you dont get pills for proteins and iron. maybe you can give me some insight into the mind of a vegan(even though you are vegetarian) anyone else may answer ofcourse.
I can't, I don't understand them either... *clings to milk and eggs* But they can be healthy, it's just really difficult.

zactly. My view though is that if it's already dead, might as well give it a purpose to be dead. Not to the point of gluttony of course.
And you don't see the problem in animals being raised for the sole purpose of being killed?

btw, what do a veg do if you find out, that you accedentally ate meat(in some way)? again merely of personal interest
Feel sick. To a varying degree of course, but I think that sums it up...

Hah, that is a thing that can be argued. Even some meat eaters will prefer something more veggy as their favorite food~

I don't think I see the problem. Could you explain?

Is this thread necessary? I'm not saying it has to be but Mods/Admins only like/keep any thread that can be intelligently talked about. Saying you can't understand Vegans/Vegetarians isn't very intellectual because:

a) They are different lifestyles

b) You don't need to understand them.

c) I'm sure this could be considered flaming if a Vegan or Vegetarian takes offense to this.

Future Suggestion:

Talk about why they choose to lead this lifestyle. Meaning, don't say you don't understand someone/thing. It's impolite and it's arrogant :P.

As for one, seeing what they do to some animals is... disturbing :X

They are people.

I don't think I see the problem. Could you explain?

What isn't wrong about that?

Meat-eaters? Is that politically correct? Say, Non-vegetarians/vegans...

Oops on my part, I guess... Though it would mean the same thing... I think... Gah, my head hurts now...

I don't think I see the problem. Could you explain?
It was to the argument, that if it is already dead, we might as well eat it. To some degree I can agree with that - the problem is, humans don't eat creatures who just happened to drop dead when they got hungry. Humans have raised races for the sole purpose of having good meat. And not all treat those creatures good...
More animals are killed than needed for human consumption...

We do not need meat. If we needed meat then there would be no vegetarians. They just want to help animals. No big deal.

I'm not a vegetarian, and I've never had McCdonalds. personally I think it's nasty as balls.

Now anyway, to the creationist vegetarians, when God first created the earth, he made animals just so Adam and family could eat them, they served no other purpose. Think on that.

Ok, so vegetarians don't actually get all of the proteins they need, rather to be more specific they cannot get all the amino acids they need. There are 8 essential amino acids, that you cannot get from eating soy products, the other 12 (non-essential) you can get from eating products like soy. The body can take apart these amino acid and reform them into any of the other 12. But the essential amino acids can not be synthesized by the body, therefore you have to some sort of meat (even eggs are good...), otherwise it is just unhealthy. Plus meats like veal and venison taste absolutely delicious.

DDX took the words right out of my mouth. Also i saw a funny shirt at shool the other day. It had a picture of a hunter about to shoot a deer and it said "I didn't climb to the top of the food chain to become a vegitarian."

My Grandmother passed away due to a conversion to vegan due to a amino acid deficiency, (yea yea, she ate soy proteins, so what? your body needs the 8 essential ones found only in meat). So from then on, I have tried my best to convert people from being vegans to omnivorous. If you are concerned about "health" risks cooking with meat can be very healthy, if you know how to do it. You also need to eat some fat because guess what: your brain is made of fats and cholesterols (and neurons... I know), so far I have convinced 3 out of around 20 people to become "balanced" eaters.

I am not a vegetarian, but I understand greatly what they see. Vegetarians/Vegans want to help animals and not be killers like most of you people are. You're saying that these animals are dead and don't need the meat anymore.. but we killed them. If they died naturally, then it might be more understandable.. but when we murder them, that's wrong. And they obviously view animals important to life, as they are. If it was just humans, we would be wiped out in no time. There is a nature balance, and we are ruining it.

/vegetarian through 19 out of 19 years, not deficient of anything...

I should change other sides of my lifestyle to more healthy ways, though.

And darn you, DDX. Now I have an egg craving. And it's past midnight, so I don't wanna boil stuff 'cause that's too troublesome at this hour...
