The fact of the matter is, I looked back at the first half of the pages, and I'm just disappointed in those who just flat out attacked the vegan people. And yes, for the remainder of those replies that are still there, I flagged, because there was no need for any of them.
I didn't want to do this, but since those select few were taking it too far, I guess I gotta. Let's take this all in perspective shall we? In the form of a chicken, and our masters are the owners of the McDonalds franchise. We are raised, only to be in a small pen with enough room to move a few inches, with thousands of others in a line of other pens. The only thing we see is what's in front of us in our field of vision, and our masters that feed us homogenized food to make our breasts and other meat sections bigger. This is done, for months at a time, until the fateful day, when we are sent to the slaughterhouse to get our heads chopped off, when the only thing we ever saw in months was what we saw in our pen, with no interactions whatsoever to our fellow chickens, knowing that our children would have to face the same lifestyle, again and again, with no end to the cycle. This is their life, and that's what we, their deities, give them, all to meet the needs of the citizens so they can have a delicious meal to eat.
Now I don't know about you, but that lifestyle would SUCK. At least give me a wide area of ground to live in, so I can hang out with my chicken friends... the fact that the only chicken I would know was myself and the guy in front of me would just be a boring drag. The only lucky part would be if I were to be chosen to meet a hen ;-] , but that would be it. This is the lifestyle of the chickens, and we are the cause of it. Happy? Eat some colors.
its not about getting protein through meat and eggs, for some people who abruptly switch diets that screws up their system, and the amino acid deficiency only added to that
vegetarian
does not = vegan.
vegan = people who only eat veggies, vegetarian class A eats milk/eggs. Vegetarian class B eats milk/eggs and fish. Vegetarian class B2 eats chicken milk/eggs and fish. Weird people eat everything except for veal due to "cruelty"... lulz.
/vegetarian through 19 out of 19 years, not deficient of anything...
I think we all need to be more understanding, especially considering how some religions and cultures don't eat meat or certain animals. I have a friend who is Hindu so it kind of upsets me that some people are being rude about this and not even attempting to open thier minds and understand.
I agree that humans are omnivores and that eating meat is better for you than solely vegetables and fruits, but it is possible to live fine without meat as an estimated 5.7 million americans have proven.
