i dont beleive in global warming because i think that it is so gradual that by the time it is dangerous the next ice age will counter act it

Does any one else have any views or opinions about that?

. There have literally been hundreds of 'ice ages' over the past million years, going in a freeze thaw cycle, freezing, then warming up only to freeze again. In fact, we're actually quite overdue for one and lady Earth don't like that.

In fact we are in one right now. <looks at poles> yep their good and frozen. Humans are having an effect and even if we aren;t destoying the planet through heating it up we are doing lots of other things: Destroying habitat, using up energy reserves, killing animals etc. I don;t mean to be a negative nancy (I just watched Simpsons did it) but we humans are horrible lol

If we want to sort out global warming we need to focus more on Nuclear Fussion. 0.01% of the global energy budget is spent on it (more is spent on research into cars) fussion above any renweable source (solar, wind etc.) is the future of energy production. We just about know how to do it, we have the money to do it is a case of if we do it in 30 years, 50 years etc.

global warming is a myth, the media is trying to scare you to buy things you dont need! those "scientists" that told you its true are sitting on piles of money thanks to the media

Mmmmm...nope, not buying it. Fox news would be the forerunner in covering Global Warming then if it was a scare tactic, and since they're not I'm going to have to disagree. They're plenty of things that are HYPED UP by the Media, but not bullshit thats made out of thin air.
Besides, the only people profiting from this are those who produce things that use green energy, and even if global warming weren't true its about damn time we stopped resources like oil that weaken national security and that 95% of Americans can't get by without. Plus, even if you don't believe in Global Warming, you can't deny pollutions harmful to the environment

30 years ago scientist talked about global cooling

That was a theory to explain environmental change, but that theory's been disproven. Global warming has much more evidence, and theory's change, that's part of science. So if you hear about a couple scientists in one part of the world talking about global cooling, it doesn't mean its agreed upon by scientists from all over the world, who could gather their own evidence and conclusions to either support or disprove the theory

First of all believing in something normally it associates with being a religion, which it isn't. Look at the evidence, ice caps melting, hotter summers, species dying out, if you say you don't believe in global warming the there must be something pretty wrong with you.

hotter summers

So why are the summers in AZ getting cooler? Explain that.

Random weather fluctuation, or Rush Limbaugh's fan to stop him from sweating all over his radio equipment got turned up to medium.

Are we still discussing this? Oh man, hahaha. I prefer the term global climate change. Some areas are experiencing hotter than average temperatures while others are experiencing cooler than average temperatures. Humans have an effect, and we do need to change before the Earth does. 99.9% of all species that have ever lived on Earth are now extinct. I'm pretty sure humans won't last long due to our negative impacts on the world.

I think global warming does exist but is moving too slowly to really effect us at the present time. But zombieslayer made a good point.

because of global warming we have more crazy temperature fluctuations before it starts to get really hot.

The reason that the UK is so mild in the winter is that we are warmed by the Gulf stream. As temperatures increase the stream will shift in position away from the UK making it colder. not everywhere is affected in the same way. As mentioned several times global warming isn;t the best term to use.

I read that some of you don't thonk that global warming (or climate change whatever) can affect us at the present time. The problem is that now the changes are quite too small to realy take account of it and make people change their way of living. But if we wait more it will be too late. Then the changes will have happened and we will be asked why we didn't do something about it. For some species it is already too late annd some changes are already irreversible. But it's up to us to make the difference. (Doesn't that sound beautiful?)

I think it is very clear that we are constantly pumping Co2 emissions into the atmosphere on a daily basis. The more civilization develops the more Co2 we will be producing. Unless steps are taken to clean up our act and lower these levels, we WILL start to expierience a run away green house effect. It is proved science and I do not even understand why this is even still a debate. Wake up, educate yourself and start doing things to lower your emissions. We as humans can take small steps each day to work towards a cleaner planet. These steps don't have to be life altering, it could be something as simple as recycling or writing your local government about your concerns of unclean factories and power plants. In order for change to happen it will require the will of the people, don't just expect any government to fix it for you.

Think Green! =)

In ecological time, global climate change is actually happening very fast. The choices we make today, affect our future. This needs to be a worldwide change, and I really don't know if we can pull it off. As for now, try doing your own part. Try recycling more and maybe plant a tree. Like Lunar said, they don't have to be life-altering but they need to happen.

What "Global warming" or "Climate change" is is just an increase in solar activity. People say ti is CO2 but it is just an indirect coincidence. There is a more exact relationship with solar activity. The sun had simply been burning more hydrogen. Unless you want to send a space ship full of ice cream up there, there is nothing you can do. If some random species of animals die, they die, it has happened before and it is the circle of life. Deal with it.
