i dont beleive in global warming because i think that it is so gradual that by the time it is dangerous the next ice age will counter act it

Does any one else have any views or opinions about that?

yes,no ice anymore.Global warming cause ice melting.when ice melting, land or open water takes its place.both place and open water are on average less reflective than the ice and thus absorb more solar radiation.this causes more warming, which in turn causes more melting, and this cycle continues.

I don't think global warming has anything to do with religion.

have you read the title of this forum? WORLD EVENTS, politics, religion, etc.

But anyways i think global warming is real actualy. And trust me, i don't think we'll have any more ice ages soon. but at the same time why does everybody think were going to die because of it? It's a slow going process and instead of panic why not just help prevent it? Do anything "realists" are telling you to do. or forget about it. im sort of eco-freindly but i still think we should wory about more important things.

The earth go's through natural heating and cooling processes. A space picture of the north pole shows that the ice sheet has gotten 15% bigger (2008). By the end of 2008, scientist conclueded that the sun has had more sun spot activity, meaning that the sun has gotten cooler.

I think coming up with 'green' techonolygs is a good idea, but i dont think global warming its a reality.

if the world is heating up, there will be no next ice age.

Wrong. What caused the last Ice Age was that a huge glacier moved into the Atlantic Ocean from what is now the East Coast of the United States, bringing the huge trade off of hot and cold water in the underwater current to a standstill, which ceased all production of warm air, meaning an Ice Age.

Although there is no ice which could slide off into the Atlantic to disrupt this current again on the East Coast, Greenland, a huge chunk of ice, is located just above the current.

And you know what? Studies have shown that Greenland's ice is melting. When the ice melts, it moves under the ice, meaning that the ice melts faster, and that it is able to move. When the ice eventually dumps into the Atlantic, the ice age will come, very, very quickly.

If you watched "The Day After Tomorrow," that sort of happens. Or maybe it was Antarctica? But it was ice breaking into the Atlantic, disrupting the current thus disrupting the world climate.

I can't remember exactly how quickly the climate change would take place; certainly not within the few hours such as in the movie. It would be very swift though.

Such as over 10 years. And last about 2000 years. The world is big, and big is slow and long.

The world is big, and big is slow and long.

Which is why global warming may not be natural, since its happening so rapidly

Look, the reason I believe in global warming is because they have the means to back up the claims about global warming. All I hear from those saying its false is "Well, this one area is getting a little cooler" and "Al Gores crazy". Get some solid science to back up your statements, not just random events or someone who supports it may be crazy (in which case the entire NRA would be done for..).

Big and slow is not 200 years. And 1 degree every 100 years is natural. If we can't predict the weather accurately, how are we supposed to warm up the planet? There was not one ice age, as you people seem to think. The world goes in cycles, even global temperature. There have literally been hundreds of 'ice ages' over the past million years, going in a freeze thaw cycle, freezing, then warming up only to freeze again. In fact, we're actually quite overdue for one and lady Earth don't like that.

Some Weather conditions couldnt be that major and especialy happen that fast. It was a good movie though.

Weather is different, because it shifts based upon pressure fronts. You can't compare weather to global warming in that sense, since global warming isn't based upon something that can change that rapidly.
I'm not buying the cycle of ice age's as an excuse either. If that were true, wouldn't it mean more mass extinctions? Species that were adjusted to a tropical/warm climate wouldn't be suited to that environment, and even with natural selection and evolution the number of species unable to develop beneficial mutations would be fairly large, leading to their ultimate death as a species, which we should find evidence of.

global warming is a myth, the media is trying to scare you to buy things you dont need! those "scientists" that told you its true are sitting on piles of money thanks to the media
