What if every single nation gave all it's citizens like, 1 million dollars? That would stop poverty right? If all the nations gave their people money, then money would just overall increase in the world right? wouldn't that help a couple of the problems we have today? Or am I making a mistake here. . .?
1) $1,000,000 x 300,000,000 people = $300,000,000,000,000 That would completely bankrupt the US treasury. 2) Why do you think 75% of lotto winners go bankrupt within 5 years? They don't know what to do with the sudden excess wealth. That's why many people have problems with debt. They get in way over their head.
If you knew a thing about economics, this wouldn't make sense lol. This is a thing called a "kibbutz", where everything would be shared. If we share money, then those that are working hard would all be in vain, because there will be some people that are lazy, but will still get those benefits. In order for those people to gain money, they must work hard for it, granted that those that have potential to work hard and gain money cannot do so because of financial issues, and choices that their parents have decided.
Another thing with money. Some bills are high in value, but some aren't "worth" that value. We are a hundred trillion dollars in debt to many of the nations that helped us become a nation, but we can't just write down a "hundred trillion dollar bill", because it's not worth a hundred trillion dollars. Get where I'm going with this, Toad?
Still going on about this whole socialist rhetoric, are you? Drop this issue, face the fact that Red lost, and deal with it. I'm tired of all this BS about Post Election Day already, we had our 8 years of suffering, now you get your 4 years. All of you Republicans are whining about McCain losing, and you are still stressing the fact that Obama is a worse choice. Does this matter now? No. Swallow your doubt and deal with the fact that a president that you don't want is running this nation. Heck, Obama may surprise you. We don't know yet, because we never had a black president before, so he might even be better than Caucasian. So seriously, just nod your head and agree. And stop duplicating threads about this election please.
I'm not whining about McCain losing... I would have not been fully satisfied by choosing him, either. I only supported him because he's the lesser of 2 evils.
The only thing I like about Obama is that he doesn't want amnesty...
But what toad was proposing is out-and-out socialism...
if everyone in the nation got 1 million dollars i know what would happen. the dollar store would get raided lol. peolpe who get money from outa nowhere thinm that if you keep spending it wont dissappear. -_-
But while we're at it, I think the subtler point to make here is that what should be encouraged is a real tightening of the belt, a shakedown and even breakdown of consumerist mentality that goes hand in hand with out-and-out capitalism, in building an institutionalised fiscal responsibility.
You know, responsibility? Because the credit crunch can really be traced to institutionalised fiscal irresponsibility.
While we're at it, in January this year Bush attempted something on the smaller scale by handing out money in pocket to every American. That's not socialism, but it's like pissing in a hurricane.
i think that if everyone had a million dollars, nobody would want a job and nothing would get done. For example, you somehow crack your head open and you need to be rushed to a hospital. But, the doctor who used to work there now has a million dollars and has quit his job. Now you need to be transported to a place where a doctor doesn't think that a million dollars is enough to quit.
