I hate when people, (juan99999, no offence.) go to tell a mod or an admin, that they need to lock a spammy forum or something along that line. More than likely a moderator will see it. I can see somebody doing a couple of times, but some people do it every chance they get. I think it is because they want to get on a moderator's good side. I know we're sopposed to report such things, but I don't see the point in going into all that trouble. I really get angry when somebody posts something like this, "I'm gonna have to report this to a mod.", I think when you say that it just adds on to the spam. Tell me what you think. I know a moderator is gonna see this and say to me, "The're just being helpful to the community." I know that, I just don'y like Tattel Tales.

They are not tattle tales. There are lots of things mods have to go looking through. Many people flag too short comments on games and mods have to check those out. There are a ridiculous amount of spammy forums and the mods have lives too. They don't just spend all day looking for spam and stuff like that. Don't judge people who alert mods about spammy things they ARE JUST TRYING TO HELP OUT!!!
Also, you spelled tattle wrong.

That is the moderator's job to look through the forums and what-not. That's why they we're picked to be moderators. I think it's worse than spam!

Alright, here are my two cents about this.

First of all, users that want to help, you can first help by not saying you are helping. Get that? Like Klaushouse said, it will just add to the spam pile, other users see that, they mimic that post with "yeah a mod should lock this", and "I'll go get one too", etc. Just flag the post(s), and report the thread name anonymously to the moderator without announcing it to the thread. If you look at the stickies in the NC's forum, it tells you to flag the spam reply, but not saying to users that the post is spam. My point here is, to just report to the moderator silently.

Second of All: Jesus, your post was unnecessary and turns your name into a giant oxymoron. Please refrain from swearing on a public community.

Third of all: Posting a thread specifically attacking us is not going to solve anything, you should at least just confront us about it personally and we will definitely consider it. Well, at least I know I would. I don't know about Wan though. Hopefully this helps you guys.

Thanks ShintetsuWA, Juan always posts "I'll have to report this to a mod." I can't stand it when people say that.

I really don't like the people who tell the offender that they are going to report them to the mods, and you see the same people who keep telling everyone that they are going to report things, it is almost like they are being suck ups. just flag the post, maybe if it really bothered you drop the offender a message, and if it is a really bad offense, then tell a mod with a link to wherever the offending has been done.

The only fault of any person who was reported or "tattled on" is the person who broke the rules. The best thing to do is to report people as quietly as possible. The less people who knows your reporting someone, the better.

If someone spams a little, let it be. A little bit of spam doesn't hurt anything. It is when you see people spamming to the point were they are either taking advantage of the AP system, or just becoming plain annoying, when you should take action.

For other offenses, such as posting unnapropriate images or harrassing other players, it is encouraged that that person is reported.

Just take actions according to the severity of the offence.

Because this is an unstable thread, I am going to lock it before any flames build.
