(i got this subject from the popular media thread)
do you think it is good/ bad?
personally, i think it isn't too respectful. i believe that music worshipping God should be respectful and reverent. people making rock and metal christian music is bending God to fit your life, you should change your life to worship him. Church is supposed to be a reverent place where people can sing together and pray and listen to listens and stuff.
Christian is a little too boring and strange, a bit like Country. Metal isn't that bad but I do not like the screaming, And rock is pretty interesting, good beats and words to me
Well music is a way to express yourself. Some people find it kinda queer to sing high pitched, and sing about some darn candle that just wont blow out. XD. Personally i hate any music that has to do with someones God. Rock and Metal is again just a way to express yourself, and probably sounds ten times btr than singing high pitched about some darn candle or how God is gonna come down and save us all. Theses christian bands at least say that, and then add in sum crazy guitar solos, making the songs half decent.
well i'm not saying christian music is bad, i listen to some christian music. relient k, skillet, demon hunter, flyleaf, and so on. i just don't think it should be played in church. my belief is that you should have reverent music in church, then you can listen to whatever outside of church
Any music praising God is considered respectful, some songs by Toby Mac are rap and they are still as good as some hymns. Slow Fade, a rock song, is loved by many, it is Christian music, despite the fact that it is rock. I personally believe that any kind of music is considered Christian music as long as it is in moral range of main Christian or worship music, anything that talks about God but turns out to be blasphemous is not Christian music, despite the fact that it includes God in it, but songs can be freely considered Christian or non-Christian in anyone's opinion.
Have you heard of "As I Lay Dying" JesusPriest? That's a Christian metal band. So many people think metal is satanic. There are differances in metal. Thrash, black, death metal....they are all different kinds of metal.
Skillet is one of my favorite Christian rock bands. They have songs that definately fit some themes or morals set by God.
Actually, in response to an earlier post; actually, bending God's teachings into your own life is what God wants! He wants us to involve him in our lives, be it going to church, praying, or writing music!
As well as it is annoying, because it is all the same, i mean, how broad can you get singing about "He died for us" "I love you jesus" and "Praise god" over and over again?
Back when Jesus was on Earth, he told parables to people. Those parables were basically God's morals put into a way that humans in that era could understand. I read this book called "Bruchko". In it, a missionary was witnessing to an Indian tribe, but they didn't understand those parables; so he changed the parables for the Indians to help them understand what the Bible said.
As long as the message stays the same, I think that Christian metal/rock is good. Once they start going satanic, I think it would be a good idea to change the radio station or delete that illegal copy of that song. X-P
