Ok this was most likely not the best name for the thread but i couldn't think of anything else. But the topic is based on the fact that the government has secrets that the havn't and don't plan to tell the public. These could range from ET to finding proof there is a God to finding proof there isn't to finding life underground to finding purple people ect. (haha USMC) So the question would be does the government have secrets like this , what you think they are, and should they tell the general public, please explain your answers
Why do you think the military protects Area 51 so closely?
Art Bell, of Coast to Coast AM, used to have a house on the edges of Pahrump, NV. On the edge of his property was a ridge, and if he walked up to the top of that ridge, he could look down to Area 51. He has told many, many stories of the things he's seen from over that ridge, too many to list here. If you tried to go up that ridge today, you'd be greeted by marines. =)
I would say that, most of the time, our government simply isn't good enough at keeping secrets to be at the root of every conspiracy that comes along.
This does not mean that there aren't some validity to some conspiracies, just that they are no where near as elaborate as we might imagine them to be.
Most people seem to have a tendency to be a little paranoid, a little frightened, and a whole lot imaginative about what they do not know, therefore they create all sorts of wild and speculative explanations for them.
Ofcourse, look at the Roswell Incident, the next day newspapers all over the country were saying that a UFO crashed with Alien remains. Then next day, it was suddenly a weather ballon had crashed.
The Cuban missle crisis, American citizens didn't know that nuclear missles where even being shipped to cuban from the Soviet Union. Then five days after the president finally told the public that we were on a verge of nuclear war.

Because if you spied on them for another country and got a good look at what they where designing then you would be a major threat it is a testing facility for the military, but of course no aliens... and what is with posting three times in a row? put it all in one post!

Before i say anything, consider this. Our lives are complicated enough with daily tasks. why do we need to know if there are UFO's or stupid stuff like that. My father worked for an agency that transported "materials" to areas like area 51. He's given me the names of so many different, top secret military facilities, i forget them. He couldn't tell me exactly what he saw but he said there was some very weird stuff in the back of semi. so the answer is yes the public has the right to know, but what is the sense in causing wide spread hysteria?
Yes there are many secrets that are held from the U der.. but i think they are kept for a darn good reason 1. not to staart panic maybe 2. there is nothing that the people need or should know. 3 can't think of three but there probobly is a lot more these 2 are just the big thinges so i say good that they ar keeping them a secret.
haha i agree...we have a base in my home town with 7 levels underground you can't go down alone, apparently you go crazy lol, i also live in the second most likely place to get blown up :S we make the only abti-rocket missles in America....
