Ok this was most likely not the best name for the thread but i couldn't think of anything else. But the topic is based on the fact that the government has secrets that the havn't and don't plan to tell the public. These could range from ET to finding proof there is a God to finding proof there isn't to finding life underground to finding purple people ect. (haha USMC) So the question would be does the government have secrets like this , what you think they are, and should they tell the general public, please explain your answers

What is it about the human psyche, that, in the absence of conspiracies, it would be necessary to make them up?

The truth is probably never nearly as interesting as we would imagine it. The entertainment industry, the news media, and the World Wide Web all love to play upon the very human need to believe in really juicy conspiracies.

Say if there were a press (newpaper) printing these out..We have a right to know because:
A.Freedom of the press.
B.It's our right to know what's going on in OUR country.

It should totally be our help because if the public knew then maybe someone would have answers theyre looking for.

IF the government WAS/IS hiding something, then they have many good and bad reasons not to tell the public. For one:

Good Reasons:

-So mabey we find out there are aleains. well thats would cuse world-wide panic, people would riot, and not know what to do!

Bad Reasons:

-The government is up to something, that if the public found out, it would cause outrage, riots and would down right lead to there "bag to rip opean".

Ricador... lol. Riots! Whoo!

But seriously... I think there's a WHOLE lot more the governement (of whatever country, not just the US) is honest about than what they are lying about. I really feel like it somehow comforts people if they know there´s a conspiracy, and if there isn´t they´ll invent it.
On the other hand, surely there are things the governement isn´t telling everyone. But there´s usually a ´good´ reason for that, in being that at that time it seemed like the best thing.
