I suppose its supply and demand. The vast majority of people who consume pornographic products are no doubt men. I doubt there is a large enough profit incentive for producers to supply porn aimed at females onto the market.
There is a difference between people who watch porn and those who would be willing to paty for it. There are plenty of sites that offer free porn(thank god). The percentage of women who would actually pay a subscription, or buy it in a shop is probably much lower than men.
I think it was refering to porn videos, brought in shops or on the internet, but as I said, I did not read it. I can try and find out, though. So they are paying for the porn, and I know there are some magazines, just not real porn as much as short stories and articles on toys and swinger clubs.

Possibly, however it may be too expensive and time consuming for manufacturers toi allocate resources for female porn as opposed to male, as they are no doubt the majority of the market.
I agree that there ought to be more porn for women.
DaveTheDude: the "disgrace" connected to the porn industry is cultural in nature. I'd bet money that at least few families in the world would be proud to have a porn star in the family.
That is like saying "There is porn for men, it is called Yuri"... Actual, real life porn. No, male gay porn does not fit under that category. There is other reasons for women reading yaoi, and I have an idea of that it is not for the same reason as men watch porn, so I do not think that is "the answer"...
But he is not humping anyone. I know women, who are fans of yaoi, and have seen gay porn, they really do not like the porn. There is this theory that women like yaoi because of the equalty of the relationship, because they are both males, they are equal in rank in the outside world.
