This subject makes me think: Why people are racists if everyone is human? Black, white, Chinese etc... All human people. Yet some insist in making racist comments, excluding different people, talking trash about them. And I am talking not only in cultures. I am talking also in religion, life style and such. Racism everywhere and directed to everyone that is different. Makes me sick. And you?? Tell me what you think by posting a comment.

I dont think so. Even though my current gf is black i have had white gfs in the past. This is the one area where race should not play a role in a decent society. If you choose your friends and gf/bfs based on race then i consider you a full blown racist not a little racist.

(Not to say they all do...) But you get my point, obviously you can't be friends with someone you aren't connected to. Differences can change your choices.

Cultural differences probably leads to black people hanging with black people and vice versa as they are more likely to share the same tastes if they have been brought up in the same culture, but it is not due to the colour of their skin . Also just becasue you are from different cultures doesn't mean that you can't make friends with them. My mum is Greek and my dad is Nigerian, completely different cultuures and yet they got together.

Attractiveness isn't exclusive to any particlar races, it is down to personal taste.

If you come from a concentrated cultural community then it is likely that you will grow up liking similar things to the people around you. It is the things you share in common making you like them more, not the culture itslef, ie if someone from another culture shared the same likes as you , you would be equally likely to be friends with them.

Also 'Muslim' isn't a race. If someone hates all muslims then they are predjudiced not racist. There is a difference between racism and religious hatred in my opinion because like you said it is more to do with religion than the culture. Example: The Northern Irish and the IRA hated each other for underlying religious reasons, but they would not be considered racist against one another.
Well, On a GENERAL term, Thats exactly how racism is. Even my textbook said that George Bush feared that a racial problem against muslims would occur after his invasion of Iraq, and so he delivered this speech and etc. etc.

the Irish and the IRA don't classify it as racism because you can't classify a bunch of protestants or catholics this and that because your not talking about the adherents of the religion itself, your talking about the Northern/Southern Irish from different countries.
Another Example: At a point of time in Great Britain, when Great britain was the whole island (not northern ireland) the scottish hated the english Vise Versa. It was considered Racism even though all of the were british.

Just as a throw in I believe racism comes mainly from ignorance. Also i believe that the theory of evolution might make it stronger and more "correct" to some. Another thing is racism is considered much..less today than i think it should be i mean people seem to think of almost EVERY comment as racist.

It was kinda weird. Also people that are afflicted by Racism take every comment Racist because they by that point in time someones feel as if defending their race is right. Which is what usually brings up the issue of Black people and the "N" word.

Which conflicts and which people are you reffering to? I am not currently aware of any racially motivated conflicts in Africa atm (aside from the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide).

The hwole conflict was caused by their religion. It wasnt North vs South (actually republic to be pc) it was the Catholics and Protestants in the North fighting each other not 2 different nations.

I havent heard of any people that has happened to. It is not only the issue of slavery, but the lack of civil rights up until the late 60s, slavery isnt the only thing black americans are pissed off about. Many still think race plays a huge role in modern society. There are still lots of racist americans out there. Obama has to be shielded from bulletproof glass and there have been numerous assassination attempts by white supremacists so you cant say blacks arent justified in at least feeling a little threatened.

Not true. There are many different characteristics that are scientiffically documented. It is not just differences in melatonin levels. It is eye colour, bone structure, muscle and tendon differences. They are clearlyt defined. If you think the only difference between whites, asians and blacks is skin colour then you are mistaken.
