This subject makes me think:
Why people are racists if everyone is human?
Black, white, Chinese etc...
All human people.
Yet some insist in making racist comments, excluding different people, talking trash about them.
And I am talking not only in cultures.
I am talking also in religion, life style and such.
Racism everywhere and directed to everyone that is different.
Makes me sick.
And you??
Tell me what you think by posting a comment.

Hope no one gets offended with this topic.

I would agree with that, but it's almost like if your aginst racism your, racist. For example I liked McCain I argued for him, I din't like him because he was white and I didn't not like Obama because he was black, but I got called a hater and racist for not liking him.

That is an ongoing way of nature that will never change. Racism is viewed differently through the eyes of different people. Racism can hurt anyone at anytime. If you are white and you like McCain, that means that people who hate McCain will turn against you by saying that you are a racist. If you are white and you like Obama, people will say things such as, "You only like Obama because you do not want to seem racist. Ultimately, there is only one race... The human race.

I think he's trying to say that racism can be very ironic at times. If you've ever read The Great Gatsby, Tom Buchanan talks about how the white man has to preserve his race against the brutish savages of inferior races when in fact he is very brutish. I'd agree that racism is very ironic and hypocritical.

Or you could go with how comedians use racism in jokes. Dave Chappelle is my personal favorite in this regard.

There is this one black guy at my work. We all make racist jokes about black people in front of him as a joke. He laughs.

yes, racism is bad. As some people have already said, it can be funny. Either ironic or as a joke. I for one, am not racost, but that doesn't mean I won't laugh at a racist joke.

also, it will never end. people use race to tear other people down, thinking that they can make themselves seem better in doing so.

It can be funny to make light of racism and the stupidity of it, but it is a delicate game. It depends on the context.

For blacks, there was once a time when it was no surprise that anyone would say racist jokes. Just get on with it, thought many, we're the outsiders here.

The old proverb about sticks and stones breaking bones may be true for people with confidence in their rights and place in society. But for minorities, who may have encountered prejudice and discrimination, words can be a weapon to undermine dignity, self confidence and eventually normal human rights. Some people are able to brush off foolish remarks. Robust dismissal is always the more effective response. Others, however, fear that slights about their race betray a subtle antipathy against which they have no effective defence.

Psychology. I suggest you take this at high-school. Here you could talk to a teacher and debate on this.
But for one, I am no novice at psych, so I will tell you the reasoning behind Racism.

Humans where born destructive. They killed lots of things, even each other. The sad part is we still do. It's just our nature. Power is the drive though. Everyone wants power. You can't deny this. You even want power. This drive brought us, many years ago, to kill each other. Undermining one another also makes us feel we are on top. To make us feel superior, to have power. You see the whole cycle?

So, in the end racism wont end. . . but for certain humanity will. For all this new technology we make, we make bigger and badder weapons of MASS destruction. And soon we will let them loose. And when we do everyone will know and do the same.

The end of man kind and fortunately, in a way, racism!

I took an AS in psychology. I dont really know what you are reffering to. Whatever the psychological reasons for the innate human racism you describe, in a modern, multi cultural, eduacted society racism is unnacptable.

Well, I hate racists, I mean, like you say, we're all mankind and skin color is only a small difference which really doesn't matter.
I hate racists beyond withstanding.

I guess then by definition if you hate racists then you must hate yourself. If racism is a hatred or discrimination against any select group then your dislike of racists makes you one. Just a thought and not an attack. I pity racists and discriminatory folks. Coming from a city in which the majority now discriminates openly against the minority (who used to be the majority) by stating that only the minority can be racist is really deserving of pity and a feeling of hope that all involved (both sides) will crawl out of what I percieve as ignorance.
