I don't see how defending yourself after the effects of shadow blend wears off is any different to defending yourself when using destroy and infect. THe only difference is the vitality gained from the equips you use.

If you have equipped Infect all 3 times, you should be able to keep on nuking him. Shadow Blend leaves you with an insanely huge attack for three turns, runs out, and you have to wait about two-three more turns before using it again. I'm a little out of details, because I'm still experimenting with my Psycho character.

After shadow blend expires I usually prefer to stun him with break and allow my teammates to heal themselves/me. The cooldown of shadow blend isn't that long.

You spent the points for break? I depended on Slash, so I didn't bother investing on many other branches. That might have helped (even though break is an one-turn stun with limited damage if you're speed based).

Whether or not it's better, I still prefer a Toxic Bio; Simply for how awesome the idea of that is.

Aplastante:

While it is true that you can't keep nuking them, I find that either way I still do more Damage overall (like damage over say... 5 turns) than with using infect. When equipped with all the specialist gear (high physical piercing and speed gear), slash will do 1.5-2k on most enemies in zone 5 without shadow blend, then with shadow blend slash will do 4.5-6k.

I spent two points on break since having a stun is invaluable for an almost totally offensive class like a speed physical bio.

Overall, I find the speed specced bio to be very similar in concept to the electric psycho. In essence they are both glass cannons, they do good damage without being buffed, and when buffed (wraith form/shadow blend) they nuke for huge damage, however, they also have the lowest survivability of any classes in the game with lack of defensive abilities and low vitality equips.

This turned out to be a very temporary nuking build. I found it great, but the second shadow blend wears off, you're screwed.

I haven't seen anyone mention the Crystallize ability yet... or maybe I just have to lurk more.

When Shadow Blend wears off or when your enemy puts a deadly buff on itself that could wipe you out in one hit, use Crystallize. You gain 3-4 additional turns to recover and take out weaker enemies while your enemy stays stunned (albeit invincible---- unless you use Withdrawal, which cancels the poison effect ). If you still don't feel like that's enough, cast it again! You can equip it two times and with Crystallize maxed out, you're stunning him 4 turns each, making it an effective lockdown to any single opponent.

This works especially well with PvP. Since you are using Shadow Blend, I'm assuming you're gonna max out speed... yes? In that case, you'll have a likely chance of going first should it come to facing off against any opponent. The only exceptions are if the other person glitched with a NaN and dies right after the first turn or if he/she had a speed build as well. Right when you go first, Crystallize your opponent. The enemy Veradux won't counter that because Crystallize doesn't do any damage, so you're manipulating the AI (hey, the AI can't always be perfect, but it's pretty good already). Then you can take out the AI's while constantly renewing the stun when it runs out. Put a Shadow Blend or Sharp Senses a turn or two before the stun wears out, and smacking your opponent hard with a Vicious Strike/Slash/Withdrawal (I suggest the latter as it does the most damage and requires the least preparations for it, but... i guess it doesn't matter. whatever floats your boat).

Yeah, crystalize is pretty useful for defending yourself against the opponent. Never thought of using it in PvP that much, but that just inspired me, now my speed bio will be unbeatable lol, first turn crystalize, then shadow blend, then nuke, then the teammates are easy peasy lemon squeezy.

It's really unfathomable how so many people here are not appreciating the potential that a speed build Bio offers, with Shadow Blend, Withdrawal, and Crystallize in it's arsenal...

Yes... really, try it out.

My build isn't all perfect (I haven't found the optimal build for all characters), but it should still be able to demonstrate what I'm talking about.

Dux is usually on Phalanx Mode and Roald is on Relentless mode.

Play however you like, but how I'd usually play would be:

1. Crystallize opponent Sonny
2. Shadow Blend
3. Slash opponent Veradux (or the lowest HP AI; I'm usually aiming for a 1 hit KO here)
4. Withdrawal (attempting to recover focus & HP while still attempting to KO the first AI or move on to the second AI)
5. Crystallize opponent Sonny
6. Rinse and repeat.... (Sharp Senses + Slash against the AI's in this stage if you haven't finished them off. Otherwise, just wait and skip to the next step)
7. when opponent Sonny is left... Crystallize him again...
8. Shadow Blend
9. Withdrawal (Set both AI character's to Relentless mode)
10. Attack with everything you got... use your own judgment here. If your opponent is not willing to hinder your movement with his or her own stun moves or finish you off in one turn, finish him off. Really, if your opponent can Shock you for 40k damage, let him and just hope that Dux or Roald finishes what you started.

I hope that will help people get a glimpse of a decent speed build for Bio.

Argh. I should have made use of Crystalize while doing my Speed Build. I'm going to retry it now. :O

Yeah, just thinking about it, in PvP, crystalize+speed specced bio is pretty much the be all end all. Just get your health over 2000 so that your sure vera and roald/felicity can't kill you, and then the rest in speed.

In fact, just thinking about it, using just level 2 crystalize and break, you could keep one opponent (likely the opposing sonny) stunned the whole entire duration of the battle (and let your teammates pummel him when you use break).

This is like making me love the speed specced physical bio class more than ever. You can not only deal the highest damage in the game (I've confirmed this by pitting my level 30 electric psycho specced all into instinct and in all pure instinct gear against the level 9 prison guards in zone 1 using all buffs possible (psychopath and wraith forms), and my speed specced bio with shadow blend and sharp senses (using slash) does even more than that, not to mention the damage when predator and toxicant forms are added), but you can keep the most powerful opponent locked away at bay so that you can destroy their teammates and have time to heal/buff yourself.

Yes!!! You have seen the light!!!

I'm glad we have an agreement that Speed Bio is definitely a good build, to the point that it could be arguably the best build in PvP (in single player mode, it's whatever you play with best). I suppose that speed would be considered overpowered (PvP) now that we've tested all this?

I have to agree that speed bio is very powerful.

I tried dealing as much damage as possible against the mayor using both a strength and speed based sonny. This is what I got:

Speed bio has caretaker's boots, riot leggings, colonel`s armor, stalker's hat and secret police gloves. Strength bio has the secret police set with colonel`s armor. Both use the death sentence.

Here's what I use. By using toxicant and withdrawal, I can solo pretty much anything.

Seems to work best from what I've tried.
