Testing? What kinds of testing, because there are many kinds of it. It's mostly for medical research, and I approve of it. When a disease sweeps the nation and the food supply is cut short, the human race is doomed. Therefore, medical research on animals is needed. It's not really a large supply of animals, just a few to compare results. For me, I don't think its much of a big deal.
Well we have to test it on something, I put a bit of priority on human life over animal. However I'm pretty bug on animal rights so it must be done safely and with minimal harm and/or pain.
Animal testing can be incredibly painful for the animals and in many cases leads to their death. I ahve no objections to this if it is for medical research if it would save human lives, but i do not agree with it when it is used purely for a new cosmetic as it so often is. So basically if it will save lives thumbs up, if it will make you smell good, thumbs down.
True. However there is a limit to how effective animal testing. What may be ok for animals many not be for humans. Not an expert on the subject but i know certain animals give mire ecologically valid results than others ie a monkey is better to test on than a rat as they are more similar to humans.
Down with animal testing. I would only use it for medical research. But when companies use it for cosmetics and shampoo and it hurts the animal it's depressing. They do it cuz it's cheap and they like that. And when they're done with the animal they just kill it. I don't really think anything is more important then another so I'm fine with humans being test subjects. Maybe we should stop using innocent creatures to look better and use other humans as test subjects since we think it's so important
There is a difference between using animals to test a drug to cure a medical disease such as cancer, and using it to test for a new cosmetic. Although many times it may be painful, what else are they to do if it saves human lives? They can't exactly go into your house, take your family, leaving you to starve, can they? Thumbs up to animal testing, but when in the case of cosmetics, go get a new job you animal hating freaks.
Are you honestly telling me you'd rather make curing diseases impossible than sacrifice just a few animals? Yes, I believe it is wrong when it's for conditioners and the like, but getting rid of it for medical purposes, no way. Ever.

For medical purposes? Use ourselves. Think about it, what would scientists do if dogs had a sickness and needed a cure, would it be right to sacrifice humans for there cure?
Medical tests - good Cosmetic testing - bad I remember seeing a dog in a trial to test drugs for migraines, unfortunatly dogs don't get migraines so they had to implant electrodes into the dogs brain to give it the eperience of one. Terrible, but if it led to a drug to help people suffering from migraines it would be worth it.

Hey, if your so against torturing things that are alive, think for a moment. If we use ourselves, we would need to get completely suicidal people to try it. Because we only ever test on animals to make sure it won't KILL US. After that, we go back to testing on humans for minor side effects. Or, to put in the language that one may better understand; A new disease, that slowly and painfully killed your mind, has suddenly broken out in a heavily populated city. The scientists that are trying to cure the disease to find an UN INFECTED specimen to test their new medication on, to make sure their results don't penetrate to only a small percentage of people, and they want to cure it in it's earliest state. They will PURPOSEFULLY give their specimen the horrible, horrible disease in order for testing purposes. Would YOU sacrifice yourself and your entire family for something that MIGHT work? Or would you prefer if we tested on a few dogs first to make sure it will actually cure it?

If I'm not mistaken that is the I Am Legend story line, lol.
Oh and coding help is hit quote button before pasting w/e then quote again to end it.
Well the cure I would assuredly understand to use on animals, but a cure on an uninfected??
What?
Or do you mean an immunity med?
If I was going to be infected I would give my self up for sure but un-infected the testing would be weird.. lol im talking like this is actually happening and not a mental picture.
Well, possibly, well are there more animals than humans?
If i get that answer I will give the rest of mine.
