I think it should show how many people have visited your profile when you go to your page, maybe one that is only visible to you and maybe not others or one that is universal that everyone can see, a small thing but I would like to see how many people have visited my profile.
hmm.... that actually seems like a decent idea... i dont think it would be too hard for them to put that on ur profile.. we should talk to the moderators about this
I'm sure it wouldn't be AS bad as the Last Active Idea, but this idea would be terrible, in terms of leeching. This idea would constantly receive information about users visiting your profile, and not just for one person for all users. When this happens, this entire website would slow down.
yes. I think it would be interesting to see how many people actually took a look at your profile. Cons- armorgames might be slower. Pros- seeing how many people visit the site.
Shintetsu has a good point there, but i don't think it's as bad as it really sounds, it just depends on how popular the user is, ex. Zega, he is #2 on armor games of course he will have more than others but some people won't get barely any profile views, but sometimes it is fun to see how many people look at your page, plus it is fairly simple to script as it is only a counter, I get what you are saying though.
The way I see it is, think of a person as a thread. Threads have views too. Now if the site suddenly had to give views to 100K+ more threads, then the server would have to work extra hard. Now, I'm not saying it would be horrible like the idea I discussed, but it would definitely be significant. Putting a counter wouldn't solve anything, because the server would STILL have to gather that information, because the user might change his/her mind. This counter just toggles it from being shown to being invisible.
Then maybe for those who do not want to see their profile views not have them, and make an option that goes with that to reset your profile views so it reduces lagg and maybe you want to start over new and make an option to where you can enable and disable profile views.

It's not the number of views that's the problem, it's the fact that it pulls information like a bull when a person views a profile. I like the part about electing to not have the views idea in your profile, though. If it were to work effectively, then it won't start the counting until you actually want it to record the information. Most information-recording features stores the information even if you don't want it shown, and when you actually click yes in the checkbox, then it shows the entire number of views since your account was created.
