I personally love the A-10 Warthog. It has two huge engines and can really move, it's one of the best attack planes because it can move in at low levels and it carries TONS of weapons. It helped the us win Desert Storm.

But I am also a fan of the F-15c air-to-air combat fighter, and the F-15e duel role strike fighter.

As for my least favorite plane, i don't like the new F-35 coming out because it is cheap and versatile.

Face Plane has to be the harrier because i fly it hehe.

Seriously though..

I have several.

Fave WW2 plane:Fockwulf, fantastic top speed, proved itself time and time again during the war. One of the few planes that could best the spitfire V and P51.

Fave Cold War era plane: MiG 19, great plane, very manouverable and extremelt high top speed and climb rate.

Fave post cold war plane:F22 raptor. Nothing at the moment is able to beat it. I sometomes wish someone would declare war on the US so they could be seen in action.

When they are delivered to the RAF in 2011 they are replacing the harrier, my sqn included so i will fly them in a few years. Versatility is one of the harriers greatest strengths and hopefully that will be carried on in the F35.

What's wrong with the aircraft being cheap? At 83 million per plane it isnt exactly peanuts either.

My favorite is definity the raptor nothing compares, you take the f-15 which has never been shot down, put five of them in a training mission with one raptor, and the raptor gets a lock on all of them ("kills" them) before they ever see it. They have a helmet for it now that, sort of x-ray, it lets you see the machinery of the plane when you look down at it, shows brakes and leaks ect.

Also I'd have to say the F-35 is a bit of a piece of crap. It may be an okay replacement for the F-16 for the airforce, but dogfights are a lot less common which is more of the speed of the F-35. The navy doesn't need it, it will be a nice replacement for the jump jet. Not sure about how it will work for other countires than America though.

My favorite plane is the Swordfish or Spitfire. I would say the best plane is the Raptor. My least favorite? I don't remember.

Any plane that flies.

By the way, it should be "your" in the title instead of "you're"

I love the Raptor to. Yeah, if there was a country out there that declared war on us, and there was an air to air battle, are raptors would kick there butts.

There was a test done where they sent up 5 F-15c's against one 22, and the 22 took them down in 10 minutes and the 15's said the never even saw the raptor.

Wow...i saw you wrote that right after i had typed basically the same thing. Funny...great minds think alike ^.^

At the moment i just might take an F-16 over the F-35.

I have a fondness for the Fokker Dr. I. Wicked turn radius (to the right), and an over all interesting plane, despite it's flaws.

I also like the SR-71 Blackbird, and oddly enough, the Rockwell OV-10 Bronco.

Least favorite would be the Stuka. Greatly over rated, not worth a whole lot after Poland, perhaps the only fighter to ever need fighter cover.

It is an interesting subject, and Woody fly's planes, and i am going to do ROTC in college and join the USAF.

Least favorite would be the Stuka.

That plane was never that great, it had a lot of problems.

It's vtol capabilities mean it's primarily used for carriers and short landings. It is a multi role fighter, which will probably be used primarily for close air support in places like Afghanistan. However it does have stealth capabilities which is a big plus. However if the USAF is using them to replace the F16 then that does seem kind of pointless as they are completely different types of aircraft.

The RAF however is using them to replace the harrier and due to the F35s vtol it is the ideal aircraft to do this. Even the GR9s which i fly are a little outdated when you consider the original harrier is nearly 50 years old now. The f35 does have a high top speed though which is invaluable in combat zones such as Afghanistan.

Well the B-2 (i assume that's what you are referring to), is not completely undetectable. Radar can still pick up glimpses of it.

The B-2 is a bomber and the stealth is to what I know is to survey enemy grounds being undetected it has special paint that deflects radar frequencies into different place not into one place.

Yeah, i know. That's the point, the radar bouncing off it goes off in a random direction, and sometimes it slips back to the radar.

Other times there is a simple failure with it...

There are some low frequency radarsthat can detect aircraft with stealth capabilities. The reason the raptor is undetectable is because it emmits its own beams that confuse the enemy radar so more often than not the radar beams dont even hit the aircraft.
