Im not sure if this is in the right topic area but, I just wanted to bring up this topic of the Detroit Lions going 0-16. One of the worst records in NFL history.
well the thing is craze, the teams in the afc are somewhat better than the teams in the nfc, so the teams will have better records. when a bunch of teams have good records, some of them will have to be dropped from the playoffs. im still surprised the chargers got in, but between the broncos and the chargers, the chargers are definitely the better team.
the dolphins have a great record, and they definitely had a good comeback year. a good question would be whether or not they can beat the ravens in the upcoming playoff match.
now to the subject; the lions arent a bad team, the management sucks. the owners are car company owners that dont know anything about football. they had a good coach, rod marinelli, and they had some good players. calvin johnson is an awesome wide reciever, and got 1300 yards this season. one of the things that led to the lions defeat is the fact that they went through QBs like water. they had 5 different QBs, and they all got injured at some point in the season.
[i]If the Lions can get a good coach, good QB/team leader, etc, etc. They can change their franchise around.[i]
The Lions need MUCH more than that. They need a new owner, GM, management, QB, about 3 new WR's, 2 RBS, a whole new Offensive and Defensive Line, new Linebackers, and a couple of new secondary players. The only real good player they have is Calvin Johnson (WR).
ok unless you live in detriot like i do and have actulyly watched the lion play dont even talk. and no the lions dont need a new QB they need a new defensive line.
The Lions should draft Urakpo out of Texas, solid d-line man. As the Lions fan stated (I am so sorry, but don't worry my Cowboys choked when it mattered this season, worse to get your hopes up and then smash them then to never have any hope at all.) they don't really need a QB. The League is currently flooded with great new QB's, Matt Ryan, Falco, and with Mike Vick coming back in July and up for trade, many teams will look to him in the quarterback position over some rookie. As I said, Lions SHOULD take Urakpo, we'll see if they do or not, but without any of the Top QB prospects from college this year in the draft (only heisman contender to declare for the draft was Grahm Harrell, who proved he can't play unless its out of the shotgun in the senior bowl) and Mathew Stafford basically the only solid NFL ready QB on the market, and I can't really see the Lions spending that much money for a quarterback who has not been tested in an NFL style offense.
