No matter how frustrated you are crass generalisations like "I hate the human race(/world;insert broad sweeping generalisation here)" is not ok.

I can't help but get frustrated with people who just talk to moan. Fix the problem or try to fobbing it off on someone else with a great big dramatic whinge attached will not help. Emotionally, psychologically, realistically or otherwise.

Feel free to throw in some perspective people. I want to know what the consensus is here. Is the AG community about sorting things out or moaning about what's wrong?

Bearing in mind we are the most inteligent animals on this planet we are really dumb when it comes to helping it and other things.
The dodo lasted thousands of years without us and seventy years with us but I hate that example. The extinctions of the "Lesser Koa Finch" sums it up much better. It lived on Hawaii for thousands of years. And lasted about 5 minutes with humans. The person who discovered it shot on the spot and had it syuffed for an exhibit. Only one example was ever found (not the most succesful species ever) but still.
On the other hand I love humanity, every other creature looks at the nights sky and at best sees a navugations device, we wonder what it is whats ou there, can we get there, can we get further? No other animal wants to get to the moon. we are unique in our destruction and our inventivness.

Important note: That depends on how you define intelligence.

That, I'll agree with.
humans are the most unique life-forms we've discovered
O rly?

aliens don't count since were not sure they exist

Science says they exist.

My opinion is the best. If you don't like it, then go suck on a rock.

Many would end up there, then. Including you, if that would be the standard.....

Oh, why this discussion. We all know we are going to last, what 500/0 years more, then we will destroy ourselves. Some 50 years later, there will be little evidence of our existence, and the world will live one happily ever after untill the sun blows up. We are just a little part of this world's history, and there is no reason to believe we ever will be.

Science is a lot of assumptions that are believed to be true due to a calculation of their probability - any theory (or what some people call facts) may be disproved at some point.
Not that I don't believe in scientific statements...

We are just a little part of this world's history, and there is no reason to believe we ever will be.
...? Premature ending of sentence? Ever will be more?

Okay, there is no darn aliens, but I sure hope, because us being the only bloody beings alive in a universe, even a galaxy, seems a rather boring thought. Better?

We are just a little part of this world's history, and there is no reason to believe we will ever be more than that freakin dot somewhere in a book. No, we are not superior to anything. No, we will not kill the earth, though we tries the hell out of it. This world have survived more than what we little softfleshed creatures could think of....

But on the other hand: Do not hate humanity, we are THE BESTEST!! ...hell.

'eople say that dolphins are the most inteligent life forms on earth, but if they were wouldn't they be saying that' can't remember the source might be Alan Davies on QI

I haven't tried giving a chimp an IQ test but as far as I have seen (courtesy the god that is David Attenborough) the best tools they can come up with is a stick to dip into ants nests. To add a comparison in we have ipods and Space Crafts. Ont he other hans we have the dumbest invention ever in the form of nuclear bombs (impressive but way to far).

In a similar sense hwever we are dumb in some of the bays of newfoundland there was so much Cod "you could almost walk on the sea" know they are almost extinct in those places and could take decades to replenish themselves. Even animals understand that if they over hunt they run the risk of loosing that resource for ever and change prey.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste but I guess thats part of what makes us human, the imperfections and and flaws.

Oh, how is it:
You can be wise without being clever, and clever without being wise. You might be clever, but only a wise man know when he does not know anything.

Also, most inventions was invented by scientistist or real geniuses(madmen), not regular human beings.. And if all those inventions were taken away, we would be extinct in less than a year.
If we are that intelligent, how come most adolscents and teenagers have problems reading, and a good deal of the users here on AG cannot even use Google to find the answers for their questions.

If we are that intelligent, then why are we still afraid of the unknown, afraid of what might be hidden in the dark of ignorance...

I completely agree without our inventions we wouldn't survive: were slow, have bad eyesight(relatively), no real defence etc. I fear some areas of the human race are becoming complacent (teens) and not pushing the boundaries as we used to.

Perhaps members of AG prefer to not use google personally I could find all sorts of info all over the net but I would prefer to ask people if not my friends and family or teachers evn then people on here. I don't know about being incapable of using it.

Lastly I do apologise sincerely.

For saying your oppinion?
Well, at least I will apologize back for being harsh.

Well, any search function seem to be unuseful to the youth of today, though they are almost born with the computer by their side. People actually being able to find results worth using are rare, and because of the way the internet is working, the line between useful and error-filled are very thin, almost invisible. Everyone have thair say and their corrections, and though even history is filled with errors, at least it is collective information that can be useful for anyone with a critique-adjusted mind.
At least there are still people back able to research and find new ways of mankind. We just need more madmen/geniuses.

I hear quite a bit of moaning on Armor Games, like about new armatars, and more points for forum posts and what not

Yes, we do need more BUT, society calls them ADD/ADHD, pump them full of drugs to suppress their personalities. I know several parents do that to my friends because they acted "wrong" according to the parents. If this keeps happening, we will never have people who are unique because doctors want to make them like every other person.

Probably.. Though not all geniuses had ADD/ADHD.
Funnily enough many geniuses invented something, then some years after they began having really serious symptoms of different psychological illnesses. What does that say about our species? We have to be mad to be intelligent enough to live?

Maybe society's idea of "mad", is not really that way at all. The stupid school system in California wanted to put my brother and I on meds because we were too advanced for our age, and for some social deficits we had. My mother wouldn't allow it. I'm so glad she did! Now, I have no problem with being social, in fact, I have delivered powerful speeches to high-ranking Army officials. Can most of my peers to that? NO! Yes, there are some kids that benefit from those drugs, but I feel it's just a way for schools to make more money!

Being depressed and suicidal... Well, I guess it depends on the psychological illness. I think there was this genius (cannot remember who, or what he did that was so great), but he attempted suicide sevral times, succeding at last.
But there is a system of it...
Hmm, something about the genius having the traits of the madman but also has creativity.... Argh.
Seeing things in another way + creative enough to put it together in new ways = genius.
