I Think this movie is for people that really, want to say about McDonald's being terrible. [not saying if it is or isn't] Its in my opinion that not everyone eats McDonalds three times a day and if they do they truly need to rethink life, and what they are eating. Truly McDonalds lacks...but I don't think it teaches bad nutrition I mean come on if you decide to go eat at McDonald's thats on you. Its what you decide to scarf down. No one makes a person, come on people have to have self control and stop blaming it on the cereal company, or the milk company or McDonalds or Arby's or whoever...Yes America has an obesity problem but its because of a lack of self control, a person can cook themselves a burger and fries three times a day and become obese or gain a little weight. Honestly, it reminds me of those parents who sued a cereal company because they advertised on Nickelodeon, yes kids will want food that's shiny or sparkly or sweet but its your job as a parent to guide them and say no, especially if a kid is five or so...you help control their weight. Have a little self-control.

Discussion Points:
1.Should people have more self control and stop blaming it on companies?

I have said it before and i will say it again. The solution to fast food induced obesity are to make the entrances the maccy Ds narrow. Fat people cant get in, if they want fast food they have to lose weight first.

Problem solved.

I think I made my point in the other thread, but I will try once again.

No one is telling anyone to go and eat fast food. Hell, I do it myself, though I pretend MacD and BK does not excist, and find something better. Just think about it. Something you would just have to throw in the owen for ten minutes, instead of waiting 15 to get some sloppy food, that does not even keep you full.
I usually go to the sandwich bars, if my fridge is empty, and that is way better food for less money...
Basically people blaming the medias and the food chains for lazy, fat kids, well, they should try and think about who is in charge. I do not think Ronald MacDonald knock on your door and forces you to eat a macD meal, at least not without anyone telling the news...
So go think for yourself, or even better. Stop using horrible amounts of money to get worse food than you would, if you had less, and actually bought real food.

@Cenere
Well I think America wouldn't have so much obesity if people take some personal responsibility stop shoving burgers and run.

Definitely. Coming from Europe i find it ludicrous what people sue for in the states. Suing maccy Ds for making you fat? Its not like you dont make a conscious descision. The whole culture of blame(is ironically) to blame. We dont have the same problem in the UK. Here if yoou are fat you can only blame yourself and can expect to be bullied and rightly so.

If you don't want to be fat, don't eat three McDonald's meals a day. If you do eat that much of it, expect to gain some weight. People in this world seriously need to get over themselves and take responsibility. It truley annoys me how people will sue for anything and get away with it. No one makes you eat certain foods or buy certain products, you do it of your own free will. If you don't like the possible results of consuming a product, don't purchase it, simple enough.

I love Mc Donald's, and is only hated by communist or anticapitalists jajaja
And of course, the problem is in the american society; you can find a Mc Donald's in every part of the world, but only in America exists that problem with fat people, and bad nutrition...

Much as I'd like to say that's true, it's not.

Australia has a greater percentage of obese adults and, worryingly, also the highest rates of child obesity in the world.

In 2007, the UK life expectancy fell for the first time due to the health burden of cardiovascular disease related to obesity.

Its pretty damn annoying some woman sued McDonald's for coffee being too hot. And this fight over MSGs in food, I don't see a problem maybe people should stop eating it if its that big of a problem obviously it isn't because people keep eating and eating and eating...

Exactly get off the couch, stop eating so damn much and walk or run.
Its also parents faults about how they are suing because they let their children eat whatever they damn well feel.

I think obesity is a bigger problem today than any other time in history no matter what country you're in.

I think thhe two main issues in the UK are poverty and school dinners.

So many households are too poor to afford shopping for food which isnt processed and full of fats as those are by far the cheapest, it also doesnt help that things like Tesco have now become so large and exploiting economies of scale they can afford to sell this food very cheaply. It also leads to ignorance, surveys show startlingly high amounts of children dont even know what most vegetables look like.

As for the school dinners, the govet only soends 35p per child per meal. Its very difficult to attain healthy food, or at least food that isnt bad for you at this price. Furthermore many schools odnt have their own kitchens and so there is virtually no fresh food on offer. Even if kids are eating well at home, this is negated by terrible school diets.

Whoa heartless much. So I deserve to be bullied for being overweight? The problem I'm seeing in this thread is just lumping a group of people in with each other. Oh all overweight people are slobs, all overweight people are unhealthy, all overweight people live in the couch, all overweight people blame McDonalds. None of this is true. While is is true we in America have a culture of sue-happy, blame other people for all our problems, people this is not always true. It is true in some cases. I personally know a man that weighs 800lbs. He is the stereotypical fat America.

According to some chart I am overweight but I'm extremely active with a nine month old in the house. I'm healthy, I like myself, and I don't blame anyone. So seriously, stop lumping people into a stereotype. While some people may fit into that stereotype, most people don't.

I am more worried about my little girl growing up in a world that is telling girls to be weight obsessed and developing anorexia because the world is telling her she is fat if she's not. Nobody seems to care about that that because in our culture being an underweight woman, which can carry just as many problems as being overweight, is seeing as being a plus.

From reading the post if you have a 9 month old in the house, then obviously not, and from the sound of it you are not the typical macdonalds munching fatty. The people that eat and eat and blame the companies for their weight problem do deserve to be bullied.

Also i will just say stereotypes normally come about because most people who fit the description do fall into them.

On a BMI i am classed as obese, but thats because i am not that tall but have a stockier build, also BMIs dont take into account that muscle weighs more than fat. So some people who are 'overweight' are in reality normal.

Basically we are against people, who do not think it is their fault that they are unhealthy. Not generalizing, just trying to get our oppinion out.
Everyone need to eat a little fast food now and then, but when it becomes an uncontrollable force taht drives you from one fast food chain to the next, there is the problem. I know people, who are overweight without having this trait of bound will. They are active, and eats good quality food made from scratch.
On the other hand I know that some obese parents might end up being blind to the problems, even when doctors tell them, their children are on their way to obesity, or already are overweight; maybe because they do not want to open their eyes to their own problems.
