He was never a moderator. That was a completely different situation. It was actually the moderators who helped resolve that issue.
They have exactly the ammount of power they need. If they had less, what would they do? ASK spammers to stop? That wouldn't be specially convincing.
That's pretty much it, lol. Without being able to delete comments, how can we clean things up? Without being able to ban people, how can we enforce the site rules? Moderators only have enough tools to help the site, and I don't in any way think they have too much power.
And I might mention that this is a big of a silly thread, considering that the original post did not actually state an opinion on how the moderators may have too much power.
Now look here. Moderators help the site. If they couldn't delete comments, lock threads, delete threads, ect. Then the admins would do all the work. There aren't many admins and they would gets TONS of work. And I mean a lot of work. Not only that, when none of the admins are on this place could become a pile of spam. Not good people, not good. It would actually be better if they had more power. They would own spammers! > Hehe...

It's just a task for someone who is honest, trustworthy, mature and all that. Every single site (this kind, at least) has to have a moderator. They keep our site on balance.
Notice he never came back to this thread after makeing it. He obviouslly wishes to be a mod, and is jealus, or got banned by one, or yelled at by one. People are annoying like that.

Us mods have as many problems as any other user, we just know how to keep them off the site.
We have a lot to do, but... to bad?
We are mods, it is important everybody is aware of us. BTW, I normally get 5 comments on my wall every other day and most are reporting problems. Don't worry about popularity being a problem. Also, we are not pompous about being popular so be happy about that.
