To all of you who have gotten to level 100 in Gem Craft... I have beaten all the levels and secret levels, and I am still stuck in the 80s. Please share your secrets and strategies to level up!

I'm maxed out at level 91.

What I did is go back and refight all the levels at least once after I could max out most of the skills, all except the Basic Starter Gem and Moderate Quality Gem skills.

Then position a few gems in the starter towers and blast through the first 10 levels of monsters. Make sure that you click on The Increase Mana button as soon and as often as it becomes available until you are >11k Mana (some levels over 23k).

Then build traps to slow the monsters down. Make sure you keep feeding the monsters into the game, so that you can get the amulet for >120 (or al least the >60) monsters in a fight.

Build more towers (at least 9 so you can get the amulet for that.

Build a lot of cheap gems and throw them as bombs so you get the amulet for that.

Build a bunch of level 6 gems and combine them to get the amulet for >6 gems created.

Keep feeding monster levels.

I look forward to hearing tips from other players.

lifeless2111-- sometimes just to beat the epic bosses for the first time (not going for a great score), take it really slow. Don't send many waves early--try and keep it to a min. Also, keep increasing your manna while keeping lots in reserve!

after you get the high level starting gems, its easy to increase your score in the earlier levels. (you can raise your score far past the hidden frame)

IMHO the first epic battle is the single hardest level in Gemcraft. I had to fight it many times before I got lucky enough to win it.

Go back, refight some of the earlier levels to see if you can level up a little bit. You should be able to get to unlock the Powerful Gem Bombs skill.

Then hope you get good gems - I like Red, Lime, Green and Orange. Purple is very nice too, since it destroys armor.

Early on click on the mana level as fast as you can - send the first 10 waves in as fast as you can and increase your mana to about 11K.

Now build some towers, traps and start getting gem bombs of level 6 and up. Then, when you get to about 4-5 levels before the Epic monster, start conserving mana so you have enough to send the monster around twice.

Hopefully you will have enough towers so that you can move your strongest gems so they can hit the monster twice per round.

After going into the house the first time, you'r eon final approach. As the monster passes you gems, throw them as bombs. Try and wait until the last to throw your most powerful gems as bombs. A level 7 purple gem bomb does a lot of damage.

I will tell you I practically gave up on Gemcraft at the first epic level when I was playing on Kongregate. I did finally crack it there. Then I came here to see what the extra skill is and I had to struggle like mad once again to get past it. Same thing when I went to the GemInABottle site to play it there. Now I'm finished with it on all three sites.

I'm over level 40, so I haven't encountered that problem yet, but the glowing frame score is not the highest score that you can get

Karsten75 sums up many useful hints for getting a high level. I do the beginning of levels slightly differently, though. The mana pool is the key for high scores; for most part of any level, I spend as much mana on increasing the pool as I can. In the beginning of a level, I do not send the waves as quick as I can, but wait a little until I have increased mana (though I try to send every wave at least a little early). Once the mana pool is bigger (at least >7000), I start sending the waves a little quicker. On higher levels, I frequently end up with mana pools >100000.
In between, I wait with building towers and new gems, so I n caincrease the pool more quickly. I only build new towers when my existing towers can't handle the monsters any more.

Another very important point is counting your achievements - always make sure to get the best amulets available while spending as little mana as possible. So count, how many towers you have built and how many lvl 7 gems you have created; on lower levels, when I can get only the bronze or silver gem bomb amulet, I count gem bombs as well.
And I make plenty of use of the ctrl key for producing and combining multiple gems.

That way I reached level 101, but I think I have not yet maxed out, another three to four levels seems possible.

and by the way, for getting the lvl 7 gem amulet, just create 2 level 6 gems, combine them, and then combine them with 6 other gems of any level (I just use whatever gem is available in the same color) - that way you have created 7 gems without worrying much about it.
