Why not just make moderators? Or different types of moderators? I know moderators can't be everywhere but why not either make specific types that look at different things?
The problem with this is that if you have mods specailized for giving out merits and others for cleaning up forum spam, then why not just give them all the mod tools so they can use them whenever? Might as well fully equip all the mods than have some with only half the tools.
Don't deprive moderators of their uses, but assign them. Let's have a small example: If all moderators are assigned to do everything, then all moderators might stick to forums becuase that is what they enjoy doing. But what none of the mods know, is that nobody is checking merits. What happens now? Excellent reviews go by without recognition and the mods still don't know about it.
Bottom line: Moderators should be assigned work. Whether it's changing or fixed, moderators should be spread out.
precisly the message in a way. Assign them in different places they can still help and stuff but they are only assigned certain jobs. ( In a way it willlower there spam on commenting too.)
But not taking away there abilities. So that when the one moderator is gone they can still block other spam. Or there should be a flag page. WHere all the flagged comments are or forums. AND they are assigned to check this or that forum page for that day. Seems like a lot it is not.
Ao is it going to happen? We have agreed on something and nothing is happening. Or atleast make a poll or something on this or atleast tell me whats going to happen about htis forum. (please don't lock it)

I tend to agree with this, because I can predict if we had only mods with only half the tools, everyone would spam "give all mods all the tools, makes more sense" and whatnot.
Also, what Strop was close to getting to but just didn't get there is if people are assigned specific tasks, like lets say 1 mod does merits, other spam. So the merit mod has some issues and must leave for a while, so now we have no one doing merits at all, and since mods have specific jobs and can't just do anything, no one can quickly replace them easily so that things don't get out of hand. Also most mods on here tend to stay in particular forums due to habit. Case and point Strop. He usually hangs around the arts forum and takes care of it. Someone like Carlie will tend to look at S&S more, and Moeg more so in the world events forum. So essentially, they do all have positions, but where they stay is just a matter of preference.
Might be a good idea, we could use a few moderators to tackle the more popular games and delete the spam and find the merit worthy reviews hidden in the spam. But no moderator would be unwise enough to attempt such a feat.
Yes this is a good idea. Certain moderators are appointed to different areas of the site.
Won't the mods get bored of doing the same thing over and over again the whole day the mods want to do what they want like merits and then go to community and then go find spam there is no point of this the mods already do a very good job.
Well, the mods are picky and choose only high quality members to be mods. Maybe they can't find enough people? And mods should have all the functions of mods otherwise there's no point in being a mod with all the "super powers" right?
