And even if a free download site is legal it most likely will give u a virus.

Then you must have a good anti-virus.
If not your pc will be ruined.

Mp3Raid.com is what I use. They scan for legal and free music that is hidden in the darker corners of the internet. Its also not a file sharing site. So you can't upload your own tunes, rather on download what's there. I think that's what they mean. Anyway some of the songs are broken and some are fake so you need to watch out for pink/purple, or red writing and you should listen to the song first. Some of them aren't the entire song and sometimes they just don't have your song (very rare). Though it keeps me happy and I don't get viruses from it so go and be happy.

Not paying for your music is always illegal.

Just don't download mainstream music. RIAA will file suits that the total sum is higher than quadruple murder, and you are financially SOL for eternity.

Unless the artist releases it for free... (almost never)

The best way to avoid trouble is to not download at all, or as Oreo said don't download anything that any large corporate ought to care for.

I still don't get why all these threads get randomly necro'd.

won't work for every song...but get itunes first...then go to google and type in a song...like.....Soul Creation (by Cinder)...then after the title of the song..and putting the artist helps sometimes too...u put mediafire MP3 after the song (and artist if u put them there) then click download..then move it to ur itunes..its simple and free..but remember it doesn't work with every song

Whoa, I just noticed my post on page 2. I was strange back then.

@MassiveTomboy

There's a reason why Orion and I didn't actually mention anything.
